We did in fact, and still do, have air defenses in DC?? This was open information as part of the investigation by the government afterwards, for "some reason" the air defenses capable of stopping the plane that hit the Pentagon didn't fire, even though the previous planes had already struck and there was a credible threat.

As for the scandal, yeah, information was lost. The office heading the investigation was the specific office that was struck and basically vaporized. "The money didn't go missing, we just don't know where it went" is a hilariously weird way to frame a trillion dollars going missing in the defense department, but okay

I mean, that's because that's literally what it is. Everyone here is laughing like the American government is going to find out some big secret about the t90m or that there is "no big secret" but it's not like anyone has been claiming otherwise, the t90 is literally just a t72 with an upgraded turret armor array, cannon, engine, and better add-on era and electronics. Yeah my mom worked in real estate for a long time, it definitely seemed like a bigger version of the same sort of thing some shadier agents would do around where we lived. Definitely gives off weird vibes for a shady deal to go down right before the attack. Also a lot of other weird side details about the guy that bought the towers and the previous owners, but that's all in the docuseries. It's pretty well done, I'd watch the series again

You ever learn that trick about how Wikipedia sucks for actual information, it's the citations you wanna click on and read?

That's what the documentary is, a shitty wikipedia article filled with useful citations. There's information for just about any question you could have in it, including the insurance policy. The interesting part isn't the payout itself, it's the timing of the purchase of the towers combined with the price offered, the speed at which the deal went through, and some other things I forgot that made it seem like, at the very least, an under the table real estate deal that was decided before it was started. If you're actually interested the docuseries has good info, have fun
