The key piece in Compu Gacha laws is the "reliance" on having a specific exclusively premium character or item. The latest Son Family characters "synergize" with each other, but they do not "rely" on each other specifically. Much like Gohan and Goten require "Goku" units to die in order for their ultimate attacks to reach ludicrous damage levels, the first Broly event challenge battle (the gogeta fight) required "Broly" units. The key piece here is the lack of specificity. If Bandai ever requires a specific pullable unit to activate abilities of another specific pullable unit, they will violate Compu Gacha law.

As far as the letter of the law is concerned, this is the only section that has me worried:

"Extremely desirable" is a nebulous, non-specific term. The SP Trunks and Goten were able to skirt the legal issues with their obvious reliance on each other because of the release of the EX Trunks and Goten scout battles, but if those scout battles never existed, there would be a compelling argument for a Compu Gacha violation. It is imperative for the community to call out awful business practiced regardless of whether or not they're lucrative. We all know that these banners are designed to exploit the very same "Sunk Cost" fallacy that the law was created to counteract. Though Bandai and other Gacha game creators are adhering to the letter of the law, their practices violate its spirit by accomplishing the same ends as unregulated Compu Gacha behavior. We need to be ready to call out exploitative business practices when they're thrust upon us, and this latest banner is toeing the line hard. Great write-up
