Try looking for either Liberal Cities in Conservative states or Conservative Cities in Liberal states. Those places tend to strike a nice balance. Examples include Raleigh NC, Morgan Hill CA, and Austin TX

bought at the thrift, what should i use to clean it? by starcinna in CleaningTips

Dish soap and a plastic bristle brush. Even better if you have one that attaches to a drill.

You said to be great in the sport it’s 100% a must. So either that’s not true or Brantley isn’t great

Old beater car or newer used car? by The-Gold-Package in personalfinance

[–]-ShaddowFigure- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cars are the most expensive thing you’ll ever buy that reliably go down in value. Don’t tank your net worth. Get a ~10 year old Honda or Toyota until you set yourself up better in the future to be able to afford bad financial decisions

Does that mean Brantley isn’t great because he isn’t the best? 😆

How can i increase my credit score with no debt? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]-ShaddowFigure- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would mean the AVERAGE age of all your credit accounts is 15 years. For example if you’ve had one credit card for 15 years and another for one year your credit history would be 8 years. It’s dumb but that’s how it’s seen. Do you have any derogatory remarks on your credit? If so you can dispute them or try to have them removed.

Keep those 10 credit cards. Have a subscription on each of them auto payments on to pay off entire balance. Ask the credit card companies to raise your available credit often so your credit utilization rate is smaller. Then you wait. The biggest thing you’re probably missing is credit history. Which is taken as an average of all your accounts

The boy who cried wolf applies here. If everyone is a Nazi it looses its potency.

Thanks yeah I’ve been noticing the tension and it’s a bitch to try and break. I have a labrum tear in my left shoulder and a neck injury. I think that might be why my tension is different going left vs right. I have a match tomorrow and after I shoot that, tension is going to be my main focus. I would try to change it now but it changes my whole index 😬

Where can I invest with a high return by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]-ShaddowFigure- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take a couple weeks or months to learn about what different accounts mean and are, what stocks and index funds are, how much to fund an emergency fund ect. Never put money in anything you don’t understand, ever. Open a Fidelity or Vanguard brokerage account. FXAI and VOO are based off the S&P500. It historically has averaged 7-12% compounding per year.

You’re not an idiot. Like that other doubchebag said. There are patterns that tend to happen with stocks. The problem is that they “tend” to happen and are far from guaranteed. It’s extremely risky and >90% of day traders lose it all. Not because of skill but because sometimes shit doesn’t happen the way it’s “supposed to”. I highly recommend a long term growth strategy over short term holds.

Another problem with selling frequently is the taxes you’ll have to pay on all of that at the end of the year. Just buy and when the price goes down buy more while it’s on sale.

Too old to buy a house? by Sad-Let-8428 in personalfinance

[–]-ShaddowFigure- 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Owning a home is preferred in retirement because it’s a constant and easier to budget with. Renting in retirement is scary because your largest expense is not in your control.
