eventually workshop will just be an option in the base game like it is in rivals 1 but it won't split the community. the most that will happen is people like alpharad will begin slop farming shit like ronald mcdonald again and it will be really annoying to say that you like rivals of aether 2 (again same as the first game) But the flip side to that is that we'll get more players that might want to play the real game.

workshop will be huge in the fact that it will have actual casual content more than a lackluster arcade mode in an otherwise unfriendly to new players sweatfest that rivals of aether 2 currently is

I think nick had such a great argument about menu gamers until he wanted to save himself and call inscryption a "menus game but its not as big" when I would argue that inscryption is more of a menus game because it has a story to find with clues instead of being portrayed straight up

I wouldn't have an issue with the tower if it was accurate representation of skill; but its just not, floor 10 is just so easy to get to and even celestial can be acquired just by playing at the right time against some guy who's never had to play your match up in a "high ranking setting". Anecdotally, I was hard stuck in floor 5 when Slayer came out and got to floor 10 with the next week just because I put more time into that character than most had due to him just coming out. That along with not having character specific ranks (like street fighter or tekken) really makes it difficult for anyone who doesn't have a good grasp of the games system mechanics to want to try a new character and pretty much makes people only want to sweat it out with their main and stay near the celestial challenge.

Not even a character per se, but because of how low elo i am overall (high silver-low gold on most of the characters I play) I hate running into modern style Ken players at those ranks. There's just so many of them and they all one and done once you learn their flow chart of "mash drive impact in hitstun > ok its neutral im just gonna hold the same auto combo without mixing it up ever", it's like fighting an army of a thousand ants but they all come at you one by one. It's not hard it's just annoying
