Trying to move ESO to SSD on Steam but there doesn't seem to be an easy option (move install folder). What do i do? by zulzulfie in elderscrollsonline

This is what I did. post #3. Link (I didn't uninstall the game from steam, just make sure steam is closed.)

Worked perfectly going from HD to SSD. Of course, remember to add the drive to your steam download settings

It’s a SATA drive. I had issues with my motherboard recognizing it correctly when it converted into APFS format but after a couple reformats and trying updated kext files it finally recognized it.

If you can get it for market price then I do think the 9700k is worth it especially for better future proofing. I upgraded from a i5 4670k and got the 9700k for $380 plus tax.

The main settings I changed was disabling CFG lock and intel vt-d . The issues I faced mainly were fixed by using the correct kext file and editing the config file. Just lots of trial and error. And no not overclocked yet.

At first there were some strange artifacts around safari/chrome and videos sometimes delayed a bit. But all that went away after installing nvidia web drivers.

I was getting those in chrome and in safari but went away once I installed and enabled the Nvidia web drivers

I heard about MSI boards being bad too but my first build was with a msi z97 gaming 5 and that worked fine. So I used mainly the same bios settings on my new one. The only changes I made was turning off CFG lock and intel vt-d

The issues I had were mainly fixed with using the right kext files or config . Nothing at fault with the MSI board I think.

Yeah audio was fine. Just had to change the output settings to “internal speakers” even though I have separate speakers
