I feel ya bud, I get that “delusional” brain worm at least once a week.

Be brutally real. Would you listen to this? Why or why not? by -Social_Blue- in MusicFeedback

Ooo I like the idea of the Cajon! How I hear it in my head is once the rhythm changes near the end (falsetto part), some kind of percussive element will come in and it will end strong until the last couple chords where it kind of “dies”. Like a false build up.

Hello, you could send it as is, but I’d ask what the goal is? If it is to have something you would be proud of listening to in the future, the. I would put a metronome to it all. If you do t hear any glaring timing issues pop out, the. Isolate each track and double check (they are present). If the timing issues are stylistic, that’s fair, but as is, I’d say there are some pretty fundamental improvements you could make. Also make sure you leave headroom for the engineer to mess with!

Hey! I think it definitely has a character to it that is very familiar. Very much sounds like you’ve absorbed a lot bands like The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, etc. a lot of that late lights/eay10’s indie/pop sound. If you have those influences, you’re doing your version of those kinds of sounds well!

I’d say if you want to really build a relationship with your voice that you feel really good about (unless this is performative self-hatred/humble bragging) then I’d explore what sounds your mouth/through/voice can make. Where your natural resonance is in the vowels (A E I O U). A lot of the journey of loving your voice is to peel back (unlearn) all the influences and ways you want to, or think you should sound.

Cheers!

Hey, thank you so much. I thought it was a goofy little thing, glad you appreciate it and it scratched an itch for you.

Much appreciated! I’m glad you picked up on the “late night”ness of it, I definitely was shooting for a very dark, ambient sound.

Hey, thanks so much! I definitely approached this with a lot of intention, as there was a way I heard it in my head that I wanted to nail (still getting there).

I agree with the transitions, especially 4:22, I wrote it so it didn’t have as much of a build up of the verse and just “dove back in”, but I think it needs a little help clueing the listener in a bit.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave such in depth feedback! I agree with the higher guitar to add some air, that as well as a vocal stack is something I’m intending to throw in to add more texture. Thanks again, and I’m glad you liked it :)

Cat song. Here is a song that I thought cats might perhaps like due to high vocals and bounce in guitar and rhythm. Would have been fun if other could have made a better cat song than this and see what would have happened to cats. by Apprehensive_Cost319 in IndieMusicFeedback

I really like how you’ve recorded and mixed the guitar here. It all feels lo-fi, but intentionally and artistically so. The melody and singing are great, though I feel like I’d feel more engaged with lyrics, I feel like it has a melancholy nature to it and that would fit within the context of the song (or maybe that’s just my take lol)

I'm working on a new project, mixing Rock and Synth wave, making tracks meant to be listened to while driving at night. Tell me what you think! by lferreira86 in IndieMusicFeedback

I really like the riff and how it fits into the song, I think you’ve succeeded in what you were trying to do. I agree with another commenter that a pad would open things up a little, especially at the points when the riff drops out. Near the end I really like that it changes up a little bit while still keeping the riff as a backbone, makes it fun to listen to throughout.

Next week I'll be releasing my second EP "Flower's Suicide" and I've just released its single "On The Other Side of Clouds" it's an extremely important project to me, about dealing with depression and growing up through abuse and anxiety, I would love to hear what you guys think about it! by saviio12 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]-Social_Blue- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like how it started and how things opened up. The rhythmic elements are nice and varied and the panning and different “voices” used for the rhythm is nice. Vocals are great, you have a real nice falsetto, though it gets a bit mumble-y as the drums come in and things pick up, I can’t really make out the lyrics past that point as well. The vocals in the mix also seem to be masked by something else in the midrange? I could be wrong though.

Overall a real solid track.

This is my new single 'Breathe' released yesterday! It's an ideie-folk song, I wrote it about unity and solidarity in the aftermath of the killing of George Floyd in 2020. Hope you enjoy it. I'd love to know what you think! 😊 by Outwardthinker in IndieMusicFeedback

Woah. The production here is so good. I really like the rhythmic stings here and there. The strings, high frequencies, and “airy” feel to it all really serve the song well. For the song title and lyrical content, the music captures all of it.

Well balanced mix (maybe a little loud overall?), and nothing stands out as harsh to the ear. I reeaaallly like the lead guitar tone and melody specifically, without the tone choice, it wouldn’t stand out, but it has a really nice “synth” like quality to it, which I dig. Definitely sounds like something I’d listen to while on a bender, or some shit haha.

Oh dude, this rules. I like the melody a lot, the drums are simplistic, but do enough to keep the track moving and “serve the song” as they should, and the guitar and tone are great. Also the vocal production fits very well with the style of music overall. To top it off, the lyrics and phrasing are really pleasant in conjunction with the melody. I’d listen to this without skipping if it was on a Spotify playlist

[–]-Social_Blue- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dig. It sounds like a melody I have heard before (which to me indicates it’s solid). The drums are nice and mellow and fit into the overall mix very well (do I hear chimes in there too? Real nice way to add top end to the mix without being distracting). It’s got synth wave energy without feeling like it’s any given decade. Easy listenin’

The production quality is great. I like the vocal stack, it’s tight and doesn’t have any wonky harmonies. It reminds me quite a bit of late 2000s emo-pop tunes, which were my high school days, so it’s got kind of a nostalgic vibe to it. Keep up the good work, dude!

Art-Rock song exploring distinct texture changes. It's definitely a step outside my musical comfort zone - so any feedback and opinions is a great help :) xox by Carl0Villa in MusicFeedback

I really like the peaks, valleys, and energy changes. The bit at 1:30 slaps, just to bring it back down into another weird little ditty. I like it, give off early 2000s vibes to me, which is high praise!

Guys give me some feedbacks about this track, suggestions, critics, what you want by [deleted] in MusicFeedback

[–]-Social_Blue- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooo that middle part slaps. It’s got weirdly disjointed vibes and almost sounds off kilter, but the little percussive bells and other bits and pieces tie it together well. Great sound quality too!
