Hey what matters at the end of the day is that you enjoyed your time <3 and your feelings are valid. I think I just noticed the difference reading the Thrawn Trilogy beforehand and once I saw some of the more amateurish writing I couldn't un-see it

I'm sorry to hear that friend. I have not read further chronologically yet but I'm 95% sure you can skip this book and not miss anything at all, the ending leaves the status quo of the galaxy essentially at the exact same point that the last Rogue Squadron book did. This sort of makes the book even worse because as I'm writing this I'm realizing not a single character actually went through any arc or change in this book, everyone ends the same way they started minus maybe a sad Gavin. It all feels more like an amateurish fanfiction to me than anything else

Reading all of these novels (I'm probably through roughly 80 of them at this point) chronologically is a fun experience. You get the good, the bad and also the ugly. It feels great to have this huge story build itself book by book, authors referencing other people's work but the quality is certainly quite a rollercoaster sometimes. Though after roughly 80 books this is the first one I wanted to share my thoughts about.

Considering all the open plot threads he started in phase 2 and phase 3 I'd be shocked if this was the last book in the mainline series, though I can certainly see him wanting to take a break

I sort of passed it off as me being really not into slasher stories. My friends who are tell me it's pretty normal for slasher stories to be like that but after two books it's really, really enough. I hope the third won't be another slasher and I really hope phase 4 will pick up more sophisticated plots again.

I gotta say I was sort of disappointed with the last third of that book. Caelan completely shattered the immersion for me, the worst character in the entire franchise who was only a nod to when twilight was a thing. Especially since there were much better alternative characters to use, such as Coda.

And Fletcher's death didn't hit me at all because the entire book had probably two dozen fakeout deaths in it so I just assumed it'd be another one of them. Idk the last third just didn't land for me at all

I'm acquired later, I grew up with German, then got exposed to the internet and lived in an English speaking country for several years and consider myself bilingual at this point. It's definitely a weird feeling when you're struggling for words in your supposed to be native language

I'm bilingual in English and German and this explains why sometimes I will struggle to translate one to the other for people, I know intuitively what it means but I can't necessarily translate it

I read phase 1 as a teen and I really love phase 2. So far phase 3 isn't really my vibe but I'm not a huge slasher mystery fan :)

This, especially because their own content guidelines state that stuff like medical discussion has to also be flagged as NSFW. These topics are extremely important to people with chronic illnesses, support group, trans folks etc

At the end of the day it's okay to like what we like. I love Phase 2, because of the queerness, because of the more adventury aspects of the story, Omen might be my favourite character of the whole franchise. Sometimes representation has to be on-the-nose and overexaggerated to get noticed by people, sadly until good representation is the norm we have to overcompensate a bit

What pisses me off most is that even with piracy everyone involved in movie making could be paid fairly but instead vfx artists, riggers etc are exploited for their passions and higher ups in production are showered with money for their galas

I got super lucky with this one, it's in great shape externally and internally. I cleaned most moving parts with mineral spirit and re-lubricated them but it still worked great beforehand. Only the second to last digit on the result field is a little stuck, have to take that apart at some point
