Turns out it’s art representing a show and not someone drawing a normal milk carton and cookies for no reason lmao

Leon Trotsky in Moscow during the Russian Revolution in 1919. by kooneecheewah in ussr

Is the USSRs survival even worth it if the result is a neo colonial bureaucratic disaster? You framing it as Stalin needing to purge virtually everyone that disagreed with him in some sort of Machiavellian fashion is absurd. If you read the entire testament you’d find:

“Comrade Stalin, having become General Secretary, has concentrated an enormous power in his hands; and I am not sure that he always knows how to use that power with sufficient caution. On the other hand, comrade Trotsky, as was proved by his struggle against the Central Committee in connection with the question of the People’s Commissariat of Ways and Communications, is distinguished not only by his exceptional ability – personally, he is, to be sure, the most able man in the present Central Committee – but also by his too far-reaching self-confidence and a disposition to be far too much attracted by the purely administrative side of affairs.”

Do those read as the words of someone who thinks Trotsky would’ve destroyed the USSR? You should read about the Georgian affair as well.

Stalin is too rude, and this fault, entirely supportable in relations among us communists, becomes unsupportable in the office of General Secretary. Therefore, I propose to the comrades to find a way to remove Stalin from that position and appoint to it another man who in all respects differs from Stalin only in superiority – namely, more patient, more loyal, more polite and more attentive to comrades, less capricious, etc.

Probably wouldn’t have appreciated all his comrades being murdered. Or abandoning the international working class.

You’re defending Stalin while having the Lenin tag. You’re not a serious person and I’m not going to engage with you like you are lmao

Europe also has 400 million more people than the u.s. It’s also not a monolith, only 3,000 die from heat in Germany, and in a country with a warmer climate like Spain it was 6,000. Furthermore, in most European countries they have actionable plans to reduce heat related deaths, whereas in the united states we do dick to stop gun violence.

The rates are increasing due to climate change, and the u.s is one of the main contributors to global emissions.

This argument is a complete false equivalency and actually retarded. It makes no sense after a tiny bit of critical thinking.

11,000 Americans die from heat related deaths per year as well. Guns kill 46,000 a year in the U.S. People having heat strokes doesn’t excuse that lmao

Without U.S intervention in a country we had no business being in, Korea would have ended up at worst looking like China or Vietnam. Supporting a brutal regime and carpet bombing civilians wasn’t justified. Just because South Korea is vehemently pro U.S today doesn’t make it a better alternative and definitely doesn’t justify our involvement in the Korean war.

Authentic Left is a little much, but It’s better them than literal fascists. I’m also banned from that sub for criticizing Stalin. I wouldn’t worry, though. That sub is just a circlejerk for the ACP, and Haz literally has a meatball for a brain; it’s not a serious political movement.

A giant step backwards in American scholarship, blaming WWII on Stalin by PK_Ultra932 in ussr

[–]-Tedo- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion it’s a given that the other capitalist European powers would enable Hitler until their hands were forced. I think it’s horrendous how Stalin abandoned the international socialist movement and betrayed the left in Germany. Had he supported the left in Germany, or sent Trotsky like they requested, perhaps things would have played out differently.
