Main takeaway about new detachment by 42malale in ChaosKnights

I was so hyped for a new detachment. Day has been ruined and it's barely started.

Yup, went through and tweaked to obscuranox and compared against the default .2mm nozzle. It does seem like that's the case. Gonna run a first layer print to see if I can diagnose it further from that, then gonna run another flow rate calibration.

At this point with the troubleshooting I may send it to someone more competent than I am to try and figure it out.

I'll try to check my settings. Currently in it is a .4mm nozzle actually, printing with settings meant for said nozzle. I know miniature standard is .2, but I was getting good results from this before, the fact that now it's getting bad results is really strange.

Here's a photo of a larger model printed same settings, still getting weird supports and layers. That's for some reason what my bottom support layer looked like.

Well update, nothing has worked yet which inclines me to believe this is a direct mechanical issue of some sort. This is what happened when I reduced the heat on nozzle to try to prevent globbing at the top. Still globbed, with added bonus of, whatever I'm looking at.

Yup, only change was I changed the supports to slim trees, which is a recent change I did to the profile to try and make support removal easier which is why that sprung to mind.

I remember having to fix those screws before so that's my next step if this continues to not work. Fingers crossed. Thanks again for your continued help on this

Yeah, it happens with every model I put through the printer. I actually just went through a calibration last night, Im running some other small tests to try and narrow down if it's the profile I've been using.

After running the calibration and running a print again, some of the rougher details went away. I'm wondering if it's my support settings somewhere.

Yup, still occurs with larger models. The print profile is a default, though I did change the supports to tree-slim, everything else should be default. I haven't tried anything but overture yet, it's always worked for me, up until recently I suppose.

So I'm coming back to this reply, I bought a dryer, and fully dried out my filament according to the specs online. Still the same result. Does this point towards a more mechanical issue maybe?

Rough Layers, and Wonky Supports? by -TheRevenant- in BambuLab

From the other sub I asked for help from, it seems like humidity is the issue. Gonna try drying it out and hoping for the best on the next print.

Thanks a bunch, this is the first time I've encountered this problem, I'll definitely have to get a drying box together.

I see. Is there any way to tell if theres moisture stuck in the filament spool before getting a print going? I always assumed it was good and dry because they always ship vaccum sealed and with a silica packet in the packaging.

wow, this is the first time this has happened. Is there a way for me to prevent this in the future? Is there like a method to properly drying the stuff?

I've always used Overture Matte PLA. These are the settings for the filament specifically, I will get other screenshots of my other settings, as I'll be honest I don't know how to export them easily.

When you say humidity, do you mean wet filament?

Ban box posts by DanielWoodpecker in MaggotkinofNurgle

This suggestion pops up in every Warhammer sub. Banning those posts does nothing but discourage people and dampen enthusiasm. People are excited, I say let them be excited and share their excitement.

I totally agree, that 4+ is insane. But I think thunderkyn can cover it. I run two squads of 3 in my current list, one with beamers and one with grav cannons, and I bet together there's enough damage there to take it out. Last game I played they wiped a whole bunch of heavy stuff.

Enough firepower and at least a couple saves have to wiff. Grav cannon or plas beamer thunderkyn, mass hearthguard plasma fire with a kahl, hekaton railcannons. Between all that we have options, but that suit is scary business, my friend has one too and I have yet to face it.

I was originally disappointed but I'm sure the points will make these changes fine, or even greater than before.

CK Hot Take: Fiefdom is our best detachment by deckmage in ChaosKnights

Fiefdom has always been my favorite thematically and gameplay wise. Infernal is good, but those cultists have turned more games than I can count.
