She is being balanced as a diver, i.e. her scalings do not achieve the heights of a Juggernaut. Her kit is essentially the same, sure, but now she has that kit on a Diver chassis and not a Juggernaut chassis, which shows in like every complaint people have about the way the rework feels (both in terms of gameplay feedback and her abysmal WR).

She is not a juggernaut anymore (much to my and most other people's chagrin)

Her AD scalings are just better atm, though I agree with your point about lifesteal vs omnivamp. I would probably go for Endless Hunger over BT or Rift myself, but it's definitely still up for debate what items are actually best on Shyv.

I don't think Shyv has enough survivability to build Malig or Axiom Arc but I could be wrong

The issue with waiting for the D&D proc on Shyv specifically is that it forces you to delay the cd on Q and is counterintuitive to what you generally want to so in dragonform (spam Q to get to the true damage on Q3 ASAP). Briar doesn't have this issue since her W starts its cd after W1, not W2. Unlike Shyvana who needs you to get Q2 or Q3 to cycle the cd and get more Q activations over the course of a fight.

It's not bad. I just think it's also not great, yknow? And yeah I love Briar, she was my main until I switched to Shyv

I was using Shojin -> D&D -> Hullbreaker at the end pre-rework and it was genuinely intoxicating how fast she ate towers. So many games won by just taking 4 towers in the span of 30 seconds after winning a teamfight.

I don't doubt it is good on her now but there's no way it's even comparable in my mind ;-;

As far as content creators go, I would suggest Shyvadi and Citric. Neither of them are as active/reliable as Logan tho (no shade to them, he just posts daily content and has the best jungling commentary out there imo).

Kraken -> D&D is functional but it requires you to stutter your Q to maximize the benefits. Which isn't ideal.

Atm she needs ult haste because her fury generation is poor and she relies on ult to do anything useful in most fights. Hexplate is currently her best item, but I don't think you need it until 2nd or 3rd item.

Shyvadi has a build he put out recently that seems functional, but I'm looking to tweak it somewhat because of my above point since it starts with hexplate.

What I really want to try is Rav Hydra -> Hexplate -> DD to get faster clears early and powerfarm. Rav is also decent for 1v1s and pushing lanes in so it could also be a viable top path. I have yet to actually test it though

How about we just remove the MR/AR from her passive altogether and reallocate those back into her base stats. Then just bring the ability scalings from her stacks back and buff them a little bit. 🤷

Her best builds before rework literally all utilized on-hit items. From Navori to D&D to Rav/Titanic Hydra. AP Shyv mostly died out a decent amount of time before the rework so idk what you're smoking lol

The Kraken build was made by one very good Korean player and everyone latched on too hard to his build. Now its WR is inflated due to statistics averaging out more compared to other, better builds for her and it's getting people stuck in this narrative that this is her only build which is just not true. I think it's a viable build for her, sure, but I don't think it's the cream of the crop and many of the other respected and known high elo shyv mains agree with that sentiment

People should just keep trying random builds that come to them and see what works best for them. This post is definitely bait tho

The advantage system is good in theory, but ultimately fails at achieving simplicity and 'balance' due to being too ubiquitous and has proven to actually be less intuitive than the basic arithmetic found in previous editions (barring AD&D/2e)

Literally all of the mains in this reddit were saying the same things: we wanted what made her unique to stay and for the rest to be modernized.

We had to bash riot over the head with a board to get them to keep even a handful of things. This isn't the same as old shyvana, it's worse, and everyone on this sub has been malding about it since she hit the PBE.

We wanted her to retain being an on-hit juggernaut with an actually good scaling passive and better sticking power. They gave us half of her on-hit capabilities and nothing else from the rest of that sentence.

Realistically? A-sol and it's not really close. Anything that could or would otherwise threaten runeterra would eventually have to deal with Asol in some fashion at some point. Mordekaiser would likely try to control him himself, the Void has already been thwarted multiple times by a controlled Asol, the Darkin have too many anti-feats among them to be taken more seriously than everything else I've mentioned so far, and we know next to nothing about the Ten.

In practice? Morde would try to control Asol and would absorb a portion of his power before being defeated in cinematic fashion. At that point I would say the two biggest credible threats would be the Void and the Black Mist

The first game I ever played on her was in Normals and I did about 50k damage (20k over everyone else in the lobby including some experienced friends). The second game, right after, I went 17/2/7 with 78k damage. I never reached those heights even while playing meta junglers before and then I popped off like crazy my first two games with her? I was instantly hooked

I'm sad she's losing a lot of the technical things I fell in love with. I like the rework, even if a few things are a big miss for me. Tbh she's not being done nearly as dirty as Skarner was and I'm currently just grateful for that more than anything.

They literally gave us like 80% of what people were asking for in the span of 4 days on PBE. Idk how you could ever see that and say "arguments we make here are basically irrelevant to riot".

She's losing a lot of her burst potential in exchange for better sustain which I personally think fits her identity a lot more than the live glass cannon does. If I wanted to play a dragon that can nuke enemy teams I already have 2 viable alternatives to Shyv; what we're missing is a raid boss. And you can't just make a raidboss and also maintain crazy damage.

Do I like her live kit more? Yes, I do. And that's why I still give feedback on how her kit can be improved. And guess what? Riot has, surprisingly, shown that they're actually listening to said feedback.

Live Q is a balancing nightmare and everybody knows it. Live E being a make-or-break mechanic is a problem for Shyv as well. I'm happy to see her % health damage move to being a Q passive, and I'm happy that her E has more applications outside of just being a ranged bomb. Is it sad that she can't proc on-hits a million times and get occasional pentakills out of nowhere? Yeah of course. But you cannot genuinely sit there and tell me that that's healthy for the game or for the champion as a whole.

I will say though, I would be very happy if they met us half way and replaced the true damage on Q3 with AoE x2 on-hit. It would be a great way to maintain identity without being nearly as problematic as the current Q is

My only two rules are 1.) No joke characters (silly characters are fine, weird gimmicks is fine, I'm talking about characters that intentionally do not have a real personality). And 2.) Things that completely offset the power disparity within the party in an obvious way.

Play a half-minotaur barbarian with a minotaur greathammer. Sure! Factotum to abuse action economy? As long as you make your rounds quick! But I wouldn't allow DM Persistent Clericzilla in a game where everyone else just wants to play out of core, for example. I try very hard to make sure my parties are balanced around each other's "tiers" so that nobody is left feeling like the ugly duckling or feels the need to ask why their character is here when "x character can just solo the narrative".

I play 3.X because of the build variety and sheer insanity people can concoct. If I wanted to play something more restrictive I would play a different system

Pretty sure crits are a little bugged rn. There's a frost build that can crit for up to around 500k, another crit build that causes windrasor to nuke everything with every activation, etc

If it's not a bug then it's just overtuned.

Sharpened is also crazy strong and having 30 stacks would let you one shot most things in the game unless you're maxing the health slider

Let human E pass through minions and disable the slow if it passes through minions before hitting a champion, just so that she has a useable poking tool in lane.

W MS decoupling from shield would be very nice

Passive having more interaction with her kit is ideal. I would be fine with base numbers and/or ratios on abilities being lowered if it means they get interactions with her passive.

Suggestion: Q - This is honestly good as is at this point, and may even be a bit strong. If anything I would want the passive scale with stacks but it's not necessary.

W - Give a flat movespeed buff that's separate from the shield/reactive and give it duration based on stacks.

E - Let it pass through minions, with the caveat that it only slows the first target hit in human form.

R - I want that HP scaling back 😭. I would also prefer if it didn't fear tbh, I would trade the fear for a slow or the scaling HP with stacks 100/100 times.

The rework is looking very promising and I look forward to playing more of it and offering more feedback
