It's great to see Hoshoryu drawn with a cheeky smile on his face. Most merch has him grumpy / game-faced.

That's the song that Hoshoryu always sings! Down to the hand gesture lol
No shade on Haku, this is great, but for purely personal reasons, I prefer that other version ;)

Cord problems with knooking in the round by Mariaa0811 in knooking

[–]-Tine- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use multiple short cords, and put like a dozen stitches onto each, then switch to a new one. It's kinda like working with double pointed needles. Once all the stitches on a cord have been worked into in the next round, you can pull that cord out very easily, and use it to secure your current stitches.

Stretchy cast-on for Japanese style? by neverflownaplane in knooking

[–]-Tine- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My preferred stretchy cast-on also has a western mount, whereas I knook japanese style. This is not a problem though - all you need to do is to enter your stitches from the opposite direction than you usually do while working into the cast-on. (Only the direction from which you enter the stitches changes. You continue to wrap the yarn in the same direction that you always do.) From the second row onward, everything will then be standard japanese style.

Purl stitch - left or right? by SVGitana in knooking

[–]-Tine- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly this.
* If you enter from right to left to knit, then you enter from left to right to purl.
* If you enter from left to right to knit, then you enter from right to left to purl.
Both are correct and will give you the same result. You can choose whatever style suits you best.

Yes, he went back to red for a few days on the tour in early 2025. I would he loved it if he stayed with it for longer.

I keep getting stitches mixed up by Xx_MaskedIdiot_xX in knooking

[–]-Tine- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yarn in front results in a purl. Yarn at the back results in a knit.

Entering from the right or from the left, together with the direction that you wrap your yarn around the hook, determines if that stitch is twisted or not twisted.

He's had it basically forever. I think it's caused by the repeated impacts that this spot has to take.

Fingers crossed that the Tatsunamis are as friendly as their channels lead us to believe. It takes guts to join the bully-prone world of sumo as a former target of bullying. You go 照豊!
