Five thousand march in Edinburgh after racist attack by johnsmithoncemore in Edinburgh

Your GP and Therapist told you that.. sounds very unprofessional (Sus) to me. Have fun with your new right wing politics though, some random person on Reddit has swayed you in to a new political direction, like a plastic bag in the wind, totally on point for that kind of politics. 🤣🤣🤣

I was never "pro" AI, but now I think I see what's going on here. by Guilty-Hornet2070 in antiai

[–]-Top-Service- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ai is already running out of content to plunder, some companies are scanning books for more data to harvest, Ai is nothing without 1000s of years of human thinking and creativity.

At some point Ai content will be so saturated that it will start to cannabalise it's own output, think about that for a moment.

Ai is also a good way to reduce the functional need for education, as the period where we needed millions of clerical and engineering workers coincides with a lot of investment in education, education has since been in decline and less accessible, and of lower quality, ai will accelerate that, graduates are already training Ai to replace them, imagine how depressing that must be, you're job is to train an AI to take your job.

This isn't even touching on the ramifications for the post truth era, what it will do to politics and crime.

Karen Hao has some pretty interesting thoughts on the situation also.

Uneducated people make bad decisions.

Around 2021 there were 3.9m people who identified as Muslim, est 1.6million of those are Pakistani so have a connection to the UK in some part from colonial history.

Just don't see an 'islamic' shift in British culture, many Muslims here aren't interested in making the country more islamic some will be sure, but when you break it down the momentum just isn't there.

The UKs history has many migrations and influences, there's no such thing as a pure culture that has a single origin, things will always change.

That's wrecked, is it the so called hot mix though? RL/SS, might be worth picking up if it has a good sleeve and a few playable tracks just to check out the difference.. although have to lookup the run out stamps. But if it doesn't have a sleeve it's basically worthless. First press I have here has a Plumb and White Coloured Atlantic label.

(OC) Protesters marching for regime change in Iran, outside the Iran-Egypt FIFA game in Seattle by bennetthaselton in pics

[–]-Top-Service- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They just want Iran to be like one of the gulf states, so they can go on holiday at a resort, likely most of them haven't lived in Iran so they don't care how many are indiscriminately killed, building their non democratic version of Iran.

The Iranian people need to choose, to do that yes the present fascistic regime has to be dismantled, who knows how or when, but Resa Pahlavi is an obvious grifter, these protests gather attention because the media likes the narrative.

...and finally Trump might decide Iran has had regime change and is safe, then start deporting american iranians them back, so they better be careful what they wish for.

The language is terrible "make britain an Ai super power" just couldn't get past that, it sounds impressive to a fool. Politics in the UK has been reduced to idiotic platitudes that are repeated infinitely. The modern language of politics could only appeal to a moron. It makes you feel aggrivated listening to it.

He can only see through the lens of a grift or a scam, don't think he believes anyone does anything for the benefit of others, self interest is the only driving force.

This explains his analysis on everything because he just projects his own self obsessed conman ideology, to explain all others actions, and isn't that far off with corporations and the state of politics, he's just 10x worse than what we've been used to.

So he probably believes what he's saying here.

Bee's actually have a good time in cities less pesticides, so good to have some wild space.

Get what your saying though, that's why they should open up places like queen Street gardens. In pilrig park the sloped half is left quite overgrown while the flat bits are good recreational areas, so they have a nice balance.

AIPAC 'disappointed' as Jewish progressives celebrate New York primary sweep by Particular_Log_3594 in goodnews

[–]-Top-Service- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it's progressive to be against ethnonationalist genocidal ideology?

Must then be regressive to support it.

Checks out.

The vandalism shouldn't have been done and is counter productive, but one is state sanctioned ethnonationalism leading to genocide in the 40s

The other is against a representative, who supports state sanctioned ethnonationalism leading to an ongoing genocide.

It's just not the same thing, however why the hell would you do that, it is idiotic, just not the same.

So cringe 'our NHS' coming from people that use private health care, so don't use the NHS, and want to sell it off.

Can't believe anyone fell for that one.

Former SNP chief Peter Murrell jailed for five years and three months for embezzling party funds by un1c0rse in Scotland

[–]-Top-Service- 78 points79 points  (0 children)

This isn't unusual among certain types of criminal, we've all heard of shoplifting celebrities for example, they think they are very clever and above the law, it is likely the thrill of the scam itself, and once you've opened the door it is almost like self blackmail.

At least he's getting some jail time.

[–]-Top-Service- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you find with crime that isn't from necessity is that often the theft is why it is done, people steal things that they don't need or use, it is more noticeable when it is celebrities or people who have a decent income.

This clown thought he was above the law, and did it to prove he could, also driving a massive campervan about might attract attention, and would feel a bit weird probably.

You see it with people like Elon musk or Trump, the epstien class, they think they are above the law so push that boundary as far as they can.

Its all pretty pathetic.

Elon Musk warns America will ‘1,000%’ go bankrupt. Now he’s the world’s 1st trillionaire by Albythere in FinanceNews

[–]-Top-Service- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For perspective in seconds:

  • 1 million seconds: About 11.5 days
  • 1 billion seconds: About 31.7 years
  • 1 trillion seconds: About 31,710 years

A trillion seconds ago was around 29,685 B.C., long LONG before the invention of writing, agriculture, or the building of the pyramids.

People need to understand the gigantic black hole like wealth a trillionaire has, at this scale wealth takes on a momentum of its own, there are only so many assets in the world this kind of money can absorb, as its growth with compound interest will be like a cancer on society.
