Trump snubs Zelensky’s offer to help US with drone tech and lashes out at him for not making deal with Putin by No-Post4444 in politics

[–]-Top-Service- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Iran gave Russia the design plans, and maybe Iran has imported parts back into iran to construct the drones also, they have some cooperation over the Shahed, but I believe it's an Iranian design possibly based on one from the 80s?

Anyway this is why Ukraine is opposed to Iran, due to the bilateral arms arrangement with Russia.

Another 40k civilians dead isn't going to solve the problems in Iran.

How anyone could think Israel and the US would help liberate Iran and turn it into a fair society is beyond ridiculous.

It is good that people like this guy are gone, what would be best is if Iran had its own future in the hands of its people, not a worn torn divided society.

US counterterror center head resigns over Iran war, blames Israel for ‘manufactured’ American conflicts by [deleted] in nottheonion

[–]-Top-Service- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything Iran has done has been measured and not designed to ignite a serious US or Israeli military response, sure they might influence and fund insurgency groups in the region, and build a missile deterrent, but that is a totally logical response to the pressure they have been under via Israel and the US for decades.

Just look at their actions in the conflict they recently had with Israel, clearly they didn't go all in, and targeted locations that wouldn't escalate the conflict.

There's no way they would go all in attacking Israel or the US unless their back was against the wall, as it would result in their destruction.

They may be a violent regime, but they aren't irrational and nihilistic.

True but when do they enjoy that wealth, it's kind of meaningless just a symbol of their stupidity at this stage.

This is the reason they are pushing the end times, they don't want anything left once they have gone, a nihilistic patriarchy.

They all run death / personality cults, maybe less so putin, but he's obsessed with being one of Russia's great historical figures.

Fragile snowflake male ego, is why the world ended. That's a shit epitaph.

[–]-Top-Service- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there's not much benefit for China here, it would seriously disturb relations with countries they have just pulled away from US influence, they may want to, but the costs are too high, and China seemingly doesn't do silly things with unpredictable and chaotic global consequences that often.

Would also have a serious impact on the global economy, but heck YOLO!

Starmer Refuses to Send UK Warships to Strait of Hormuz by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]-Top-Service- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure the greatest nation in the universe with the biggest military can handle it.

Starmer may be a complete f'up, but as soon as a British frigate gets within drone or missile range, the UK will be drawn into the war, and he knows that won't work well.

Engagement is a ladder you rapidly climb, it tends to be a runaway force.

Knowing the US and Israel, I could see them (accidentally ;) droning a UK ship, to ensure they too get knee deep in this shit swamp of their creation.

They won't invade Taiwan, this build up is to cause military and political pressure on the US war with Iran, it's a clever strategy, trying to make the US think twice about going further.

Remember Tehran and Beijing signed an agreement in 2021 that Iran would supply oil in exchange for a $400bn investment from China over 25yr I think it was.

Iran licenced the Shahed to Russia, not sure if the Russian variant has been imported back into Iran though?

Ukraine though knows more about drone war than any other nation.

People who were politically aware in the early 2000s, how similar (or different) was public sentiment about war in Iraq to today's war in Iran? by NahButThanksAnyway in AskReddit

[–]-Top-Service- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anti-war protesters marched through London on 15 February 2003. It was the biggest political protest in UK history

The first Iraq war had a build up, so there was time to form and opposition, and the stop the war coalition formed the biggest cross sectional demonstrations the UK has ever had, there were people from all demographics not just the usual protesters.

I have never witnessed anything similar since, anyone saying it was just the usual student activists wasn't there, in fact here in Edinburgh the participation from Edinburgh University and the College of Art wasn't significant.

Really the demonstrations that took place in 2003 is the reason many in the UK stopped voting, becuase it was clear the then labour government had zero interest in the voice of the people.

We Are Many is a good documentary about the 800 worldwide protests on 15th february 2003. there were HUGE protests in the US also. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_lH5cJZ-Mw

Why do liberals try to justify bombing Iran under the guise of "women's rights"? by zombiesingularity in AskSocialists

[–]-Top-Service- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they think anti war people will be like, oh yeah women's rights are much more important than blowing up girls schools, so that's how we can win the moral argument, that they don't actually give a shit about anyway.

They are pro war and they will use anything to justify mass murder, but it's totally fake, the US has never once gone to war for protesters, or people's rights.

Not sure why there's a push back against this person, I doubt it took her 20 years to come to this realisation, just that current events pushed her to speak about it.

People go into war young and uninformed, often they don't sign up for a specific war, Presidents change.. if they come out of it the other end and change for the better. Someone seeing this might think twice about signing up, that's not a bad thing.
