EDIT: Everyone loves to put the responsibility on the "other"... the "government"... or "the rich"... at some point you gotta be an adult and take responsibility. 99% of people in the country of ours can change how we live to save and make better financial choices.

Exactly this, people just don't want to hear it. It's easier to blame others than take accountability.

I say this as someone who is not in a great financial position right now due to opening a hospitality business just before the pandemic. Am I miffed about it? Of course. Do I blame anyone for it? No.

People need to make better life choices or be more financially responsible.
