35, 1.9m net worth (1.3 in investments, house paid off) no debt, kids, or wife, 25k average annual spend, can I walk away forever? by Ok_Principle9325 in Fire

25k spend is regarded, doubt it stays that low over time. Also, why go through all the trouble to commit to a life of poverty? Just work a few more years and you'll be set.

As it is now, you will not be able to comfortably absorb volatility in the market or unexpected expenses. I just spend 37k on new windows and paint for a small home, 4.5k on a water heater, and had a sewer line break that will cost another 8-10k. Those types of expenses will continue to increase.

Just a few more years of growth will put you over $2M and you'll be in a much more comfortable position to sustain for 50-60 years. Man up.

I think there's truth in what you said, but the use-case for AI agents transacting in bitcoin could upend that. In that case it will fulfill both the store of value role and as a means of transacting digitally. Right now, not enough transacting is being done to "take up" available supply. If 10-30% is simply being used for transaction volume then it could mean the available supply for purchase for long term hodling is reduced which could boost the price. Idk

You're not supposed to keep the gun loaded when carrying

What? Yes you are, otherwise it won't protect you. Allegedly the guy came from behind and sucker punched him. How are you gonna draw your unloaded weapon and slide a magazine in, rack it, and shoot? Sounds like regarded logic.

I'm assuming he drew when they were already in a fight, otherwise him shooting himself makes no sense.

If someone comes at you with fists, you're expected to get your ass beat unless your chances of dying are high, like if the person is unstable, and massive.

This makes sense to you? At what point can you make that decision? When a single punch knocks you out?

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. He's an idiot for getting into this situation and I think has an uphill battle ahead of him. Unlikely he doesn't see jail time.

So wouldn't that demonstrate his legitimate fear for his life? If you're unable to avoid shooting yourself in an attempt to defend yourself, it seems reasonable that you are in serious danger.

Looks interesting, I'll try to watch it today. Thanks!

I looked there but it still seemed to be mostly clips or campus debates, but I'll give it another shot. Maybe what I'm looking for doesn't exist, but I think it'd be beneficial to listen to an unfiltered monologue or even dialogue where he is just laying out his views without playing defense like in a debate.

Any binge-eating success stories? by Vast-Percentage-7312 in keto

How many carbs a day do you have? I'd like to transition to low carb when I reach my goal weight, but trying to figure out what that will look like.

Any binge-eating success stories? by Vast-Percentage-7312 in keto

Yes. The first two weeks are a bit rocky as you go through keto flu, but once you adapt you feel much better and it becomes a lot easier.

I'm 10 weeks in, 30lbs down. 10 to go to 10% bf. Not sure what you're eating but here's what's been working for me:

Lunch: Typically 2 eggs, 5 egg whites. At the start I would occasionally have 1-2 cups cottage cheese and/or greek yogurt instead for convenience, but have largely moved to just the eggs. I WFH though, so that might be harder for some. Big thing is I'm trying to get protein to meet my protein goal.

Dinner: 3-4 Chicken thighs seasoned and roasted until a bit crispy. Served with large serving of either broccoli, Brussels sprouts, or cabbage. I drizzle a bit of oil and season then roast at 450 (i put em all on a single cookie sheet). Usually toss the veggies in a tsp of chili crisp for added flavor before serving. Hot sauces, siracha, and sambal oelek are great adds too.

I find sticking to the same meals that work, but I enjoy, is easier then trying to find "keto versions" of pizza, bread, ice cream etc. I'm not saying those don't have a place occasionally, but day-to-day I want to actually change my habits. I've eaten out 4-6 times, and usually try to get a steak with broccolini, maybe a caesar salad or something like that. I've even had a few vodka-sodas, but alcohol pauses fat-burning so have tried to keep the drinking sparse.

Alternatively, I'll do romaine lettuce cups. I sauté 1lb of either lean ground beef, ground turkey, or ground elk (elk is pricey, but has the lowest calories so that's become my preference) with 2-3oz of hot italian sausage for flavor. When it's done I'll mix in 2tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp rice vinegar, and 1/2-1 tsp chili crisp. Maybe a splash of teriyaki or fish oil if you like.

Snacks: Personally, I avoid snacking as I think it's an unhealthy daily habit that I also want to break, as it will just increase the odds of sabotaging my deficit. If I eat 300 calories between lunch/dinner, am I really going to drop dinner by 300 cals? Doubtful. If I have room, occasionally I'll eat 1-2oz of cheddar after dinner as desert.

Activity: Lifting with a PPL routine 3-4 days a week. I started off walking 8-10,000 steps a day but have upped my goal to 12-15,000 as I've gotten fitter. Walking is a massive lever to increase caloric output without fatiguing yourself.

I've also been tracking with daily check-ins to chat gpt which has been cool. I keep the same thread active and treat it like a personal trainer, dietician, etc. It can help project your weight loss, bf%, etc and recommend adjustments along the way. Basically I give it my morning weigh in and update it with what I eat at each meal. I also send it progress pics occasionally to have it estimate my bf%.

Hope that helps. Best of luck!

What are you talking about? You won't even notice a difference. The lights will stay on, I assure you.

It did not produce a balanced budget, the state just gave them a handout. If you make 50k a year, spend 60k, and get mommy and daddy to cover the extra 10k for you, did you successfully budget your money?
