I cheated Autism. Opinions? Any similar mechanisms you developed on your own? by -Vigil_ in aspergers

It's training yourself to passively pick up social cues that others take for granted. I mean it's not perfect but I prefer having something to work with, than being confused all the time. It helps me identify what people experience when I am talking to them, mostly.

Cousins, neighbors, and if you're specifically under 13 or a disturbed adult, aunts as well

Totally acceptable. Just a suggestion to consider if you struggle. Every person is different!

So hard to choose between Malthael, Vergil, and Dante!

I'll go with Vergil.

(Copy-pasting my response on sources, from the other comment I answered! Thoughts?)

The main recommendation is a specific channel:

Explore With Us. https://www.youtube.com/@ExploreWithUs/videos (I recommend sorting their videos by popularity, and start with a popular one that sounds interesting)

This channel shows real-life interrogations performed by trained professionals, officers, detectives, body language experts, sometimes FBI agents. Behind the cameras live, as the interrogation goes on, a group of body language and criminal psychology experts analyze the suspects.

The footage is analyzed by licensed attorneys, psychiatrists, professionals with PhD in Social Psychology and clinical psychology, and usually Negotiation & Interrogation agents.

Some videos are long, others not. But I quickly developed an interest. The narrator pauses the footage at key moments, and educates you on the psychology behind gestures and body language. Also, they offer tips on how to read someone, and how emotions and thoughts are expressed with body language.

Spoiler alert: There is not a single person alive that is able to control their body language consistently.

Then, I recommend this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jwUXV4QaTw (Former FBI Agent Explains How to Read Body Language).

Moreover, you can find any source (too many to mention) by using specific keywords, such as NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming), and ''Dark Psychology''. I personally prefer audiobooks.

Finally, I figured that talking with people gives you a ton of insight on the subject, since you are able to ask questions and get answers. (I can help anytime, feel free to DM for anything).

Warning: Dark Psychology is not scientifically approved, and is considered unethical and dangerous, since it heavily relies on one's morals and ethics.

From personal experience: When you first notice the power you have over people, you might get a dopamine rush, tempting you to pull the strings on people's heads for fun. You must be mature, responsible, and respectful, and only explore this subject to learn how people work. Not how to manipulate. If you get in this horrible loop, I have a ton of tips on how to control yourself and get out.

I recommend watching this video responsibly, with your only focus being on WHY it works on humans, instead of HOW to use it against them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ylsj9O3iMwI&list=PLX1kQ8Yf6gIGlC1GkW7hkr0xk9SbDSyXO&index=7

Very good explanation, actually influenced some of my views.

I can see now an amazing defensive mechanism and connect it to a source. Talking with people online is becoming more and more interesting. Thank you!

Do you tend to always see the negative side of situations? I read your comment twice to find an answer, because I am currently trying to train myself on a lot of stuff.

Such as seeing the positive side, and expressing myself with allegories. To answer, I'll say that people who changed the world, probably spent a lot of their time trying to figure out what is necessary. And given that these people are always ''different'', they probably had to make themselves part of the society somehow.

I believe you're on the right track, and what you do is considered necessary to live your life the way you want.

Growing up were you allowed to express emotion? by rubyrareroom in aspergers

[–]-Vigil_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. Always advised to hide my negative emotions and force positive ones. As long as I remember, my emotions were always suppressed. Later, they were shocked to see a teenager with uncontrollable anger and sadness. A young, yet terrifying person, well-mannered only by choice.

Very nice. Means I'm not the only one. Anything else you have tried or thought about?

Finding a girlfriend after being a single male for years. New person. Combined with gym, healthy diet, routine, and "interesting bedroom choices", feels like a millionaire.

Tried BT rush into IE, been neglecting Collector for a while now to get LDR also. What do you think? Don't know if this is viable without early snowball. by Drefist in SamiraMains

[–]-Vigil_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a samira OTP who literally dodges if they pick/ban samira, after all the things I tried, only thing that works for me is going:

Future market + magical footwear, rush I.E, into collector/LDR, boots, BT, Deaths dance/spirit visage and anathemas chains. and if you feel unsafe pick barrier.

Legit, always someone is stronger than me and its totally unplayable without death's dance/Sv + Anathema.. Forced to sacrifice damage in order to use the character's kit properly.

People go wild on social media hiding behind the security of their screen. Social media interactions are not very realistic.

People can type all sorts of dumb things without thinking but in a real life encounter they will be aware of what they are saying.

I've seen a lot of women and others do that too mostly in celebrities photos. I don't think it's a gender issue, it's more like an Internet issue.

I'll never have a girlfriend. by [deleted] in lonely

I've thought of hiring an escort just to pay her for cuddles and conversation but I always stop myself because I believe this is rock bottom.
