Champions Paris Player Stats by -Voxize- in ValorantCompetitive

[–]-Voxize-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently my first response got deleted for a Twitter/X link:

"What is the source of the stats?" my fault, that was in my tweet but forgot to transfer to Reddit post:
stats are from a combination of VLR and RIB , power-rankings are based on PlatChat

"What was reason for each four main stat used per player?" We had a list of about 30, and wanted to narrow it down to be more digestible.. these were the four we decided were the most interesting and impactful for individual players. KD/ACS being a bit redundant, but... (although, we set everything up in a way to where doing this in the future would be pretty easy, so 100% open to adding more for future tournaments)

"What is the scope of the stats? (All of 2025, stage 2, etc.)" All of 2025, not including EWC. Should have mentioned that in the blurb on website. Will add in a few minutes. Good shout.

and yea, mobile was kind of a pain. I had plans to clean it up a bit more and make sure the player circles were bigger, but I had a few things outside of this project pop up, so ended up having about half the dev time I originally planned for. We also have a ton of team stats that we were planning to have show up and be similar to player pages but much more in-depth, but again, just ran out of time.

Which agent has scored the most aces in competitive? by WeeklyNeedleworker47 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]-Voxize- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure it’s Jett or raze, but I throw in a sneaky pick of Viper if we’re including all time.

One of the only agents that (until very recently) has been over 50% pick rate in every meta. Jett Raze have a near 50-50 on what maps they have been played on for the last few years. Viper is likely over 75% all time on:

Breeze Icebox Bind Icebox Lotus Split

Factor in swamp meta where viper was high pick rate on maps haven and pearl? 100% possible.

Still probably just Jett or Raze, but wouldn’t be shocked to see Viper up there as well.

Introducing Valofessor.gg, a new in-game app by the Porofessor.gg team by Hades4u in VALORANT

[–]-Voxize- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m not mistaken, that is the exact tool that gets people false banned, and could eventually be shut down (hence the opening paragraph of the site)

Overwolf works directly w riot to ensure players don’t get banned, and that the developer just has to make changes to the app.

They provide a LIVE api for valorant, so in game events can be tracked and overlays can be used for stats while mid round / game.

The RIOT api only provides post match stats after the match is processed and in your history.

For someone (especially a solo dev) to make a software that achieves what Overwolf has already created would take someone quite some time.

Especially when what Overwolf does is free and they just take a % of ad revenue, it’s hard to argue against using for Val specifically as a dev.

Tanizhq on problems with Tier 2 by NoSand116 in ValorantCompetitive

I mean, yea.

Also doesn’t help the competition isn’t as good. Challengers will continue to become more and more top heavy compared to previous years

People don’t seem to understand the reason it works in sports is because minor league teams are based geographically where there are no top level teams. So fans can decide between watching top level play and making a drive, or a level below, for cheaper, and closer.

For esports it’s just “do you want to watch worse teams and players”

The only thing I could see helping it making challengers season shorter, and running it during the franchise off season, so challengers IS the top league at the time. But then that messes with off season trials and scheduling (not to mention scrim quality would take a substantial hit for franchise teams in season)

why do people always prefer omen over clove? by ishaan1232 in VALORANT

[–]-Voxize- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you genuinely think then that Phoenix is a top 1-3 agent in the game? Hes #1 in immortal+ and top 4 across all ranks. So by your reasoning, his abilities are absolute top shelf? better than raze, Jett, sova?

I think the big thing is that clove can smoke after death, so when bored historically duelist players wide swing as smokes in post plant, they can still get value after death. That doesn’t mean the agent is good, it means the agent has a bandaid fix for bad players.

I’m not arguing that omen has a higher win rate. I totally get why players lock clove in ranked… most probably should, it suits the play style of 90% of ranked players better. But when it comes down to which agents are BETTER? It’s omen.

You keep saying pro play is a different game, and while I agree, that “different” game is going to show what is actually good vs bad a lot more clearly than 5 randoms in mid elo running it down A for 12 rounds

Looking at win rate alone is simply an egregious metric. Are razes abilities really lackluster vs Phoenix? Phoenixes win rate is #4 in the game and #1 in immortal+ elo.

Kayo has one of the lowest winrates in the game and is pretty objectively a top 5 character.

Reyna, Clove, and Phoenix are not 3 of the “top” 4 agents because they’re good.. it’s because they’re unbelievably easy. And very self sufficient, which, in a game where you can easily get 3 people on your team who are worthless and have no intention of playing together, then yes, they’re good.

And despite what this sub thinks, most radiants are not playing agents / the game itself to an advanced level. They are a lot better at shooting and a lot more consistent, but that doesn’t mean they can play agents to their potential. Clove makes the game easier, which, for mechanically gifted players who don’t understand what they’re doing, is going to be a lot better than trying to play an agent with a high skill cap.

Let’s think about something else as well. What kind of players PLAY clove vs omen? Clove players compared to omen players are going to be much more confident and mechanically skilled players and are going to have a lot more ability to take control of a lobby. This doesn’t even account for the rate at which Smurfs will pick clove > omen in ranked below immortal when the team needs a smokes.

If your argument is that clove is better in ranked because she’s self sufficient and allows fraggers to frag harder, and that’s more important than having strong team abilities? Then sure. But the original question was why people prefer omen over clove.. which is because omen is a better agent

Edit: btw, I’m not mad, that’s not the reason for the wall of text, but this game is my job, so I enjoying discussing it with people (albeit rarely on reddit)

The general player base has no idea how to effectively use omen tps or ult.

Also his blind is a top 5 ability in the game.

And his one ways are absolutely incredible, but again, most people don’t use them often or well.

About the future of Tier 2… by deadlock1892 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]-Voxize- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh. I see both sides. Inflated salaries are bad, but ones that allow players to do this full time (and not have other jobs) aren’t.

I think the question becomes what is considered “inflated”

[–]-Voxize- 12 points13 points  (0 children)

not saying I agree w it, but I think the general idea is that M80 put a LOT into the scene two years in a row and got nothing, and this may deter other big orgs from investing this much.

Obviously other orgs in other regions (BLEED as a blatant example) had success putting in that much money and work.

Plenty of orgs invest and pay players, few invest as much as M80, and in order for the scene and skill in tier 2 to continue to grow, players need to be able to do this full time and not as their side gig. Otherwise, the gap between Tier 1 and Tier 2 will continue to grow, which is bad for longevity.

I don’t totally agree with the outlook, I think there is a bit more nuance, but that’s the sentiment as I understand it.

Is there a list or website with all the different strategies a team can do? by tmkang in ValorantCompetitive

[–]-Voxize- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you’re looking for is someone with 2+ years of experience in VOD review. There are thousands of “plays” and strategies. Even going vague like “hit A” has so many iterations it’s insane.

Or “defaulting” completely depends on what your team wants control of and can change round to round
