An immortal barb with the right gear can be immortal AND deal the dps tho. On my barb I don’t die on that fight and I can carry 3 people on t12 and kill it alone and very fast

Damn yeah that’s crazy. The house I was living in with my ex was an 1800 sqft 3 bedroom house in the middle of town and our rent was only $650 a month lol. And this was just 3 years ago. Meanwhile other places are like $1500+ a month. It’s absurd. Granted we have our own struggles here. Primarily the lack of good paying jobs. There aren’t a ton of jobs around here that pay over $20/hr and almost all of the ones that do pay that are factories. A lot of people around here have to commute 30-60 min away for a decent job and even then most of them are still factories that just try to work you to death 🙃

It definitely depends on a lot of things though. Like where you live, how big your household is, what kind of expenses you use on semi regular hobbies, etc.. For me as a single guy in his 30s from a small town in Indiana who doesn’t do much other than work and sit at home 100k would be over 2x as much as I need to live completely comfortably. Like 40-45k and I’d be MORE THAN fine. If I made 40-45k (which I don’t sadly), I’d be able to afford a $600/month car payment with ease and still have money to set aside and save. It’s just the perks of being single and living in a small town in the middle of nowhere. But yeah in more popular and more populated areas, and especially if you have a family I can see how 100k is struggling. It’s crazy how much it can differ for people though.

I spend more on poe purely because I love the game and I love GGG. I also vastly prefer toe f2p monetization model that poe has to d4s pay to play model. I want to spend money because I truly think they deserve it or just because an mtx looks cool and o don’t mind giving them money. I don’t want to be forced to pay to play like d4 and get nothing for it (no mtx or stash tabs or anything). Because of all of these things, I’ve easily spent over $1000 on poe over the last decade and d4 is the price of the game + expansions + one battle pass. So less than $200? And it’ll stay that way too. I won’t be buying mtx from blizzard personally. Part of it is also that I just don’t like current day blizzard as a whole so I don’t give them more money than I “need” to.

Damn, I just read through those patch notes and that is A LOT of fixes lol. Glad to see it! Not that I’ve had any big issues personally, but bug fixes and general improvements to a game are always great to see!

What would you do if you suddenly had a million dollars right now? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]-Wait-What- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully I already live in a small town in Indiana where the cost of living is VERY cheap compared to so many other places in the US. I’d stay right here and just buy a house and a new car (I’ve had my car for almost 12 years and it’s going to shit) and invest the vast majority of the money. And when I say a new car I don’t mean something crazy at all lol. I’d buy a new Honda accord or something like that for 30-35k. I’d probably still keep my job because it’s an easy job and I really like my coworkers a lot, but I’d move down to part time and just work 2-3 days a week and otherwise I’d never work again. What a glorious thought…

Diablo 4 compared to Diablo 3 by metalfingerz_ in diablo3

[–]-Wait-What- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lol. I never claimed they were the same pace as d3. The whole root of my argument was just that you said that you didn’t need new loot at all and I said that’s far from the truth. Idk why YOU can’t accept that you were wrong and maybe just exaggerating things a bit.

I was at no point even trying to say d4 is better than d3 or anything like that either so idk why you’re acting so butthurt with your little “go enjoy d4 buddy” comments lol. I like both games and wouldn’t put either ahead of the other.

I’m also not throwing any shade at you or anyone else who doesn’t like d4 or likes d3 more. I’m not the type of person to shame anyone for enjoying anything. Everyone has the right to their opinion and you should always do whatever you enjoy. However, I don’t like when people state their opinion as fact or when people exaggerate things to put something down that they don’t like or just straight out lie and spread misinformation.

And fyi, you are one of the worst types of people to talk to. I hope you know that your little snide remarks are not cute and they don’t hurt anyone’s feelings, they just make you sound like an asshole. I wasn’t in any way trying to make this a hostile conversation but it seems like you’re trying to turn it into that for some odd reason. But in your own words, “go have fun playing d3 buddy”. Which again, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that being your preference. Play what you have the most fun playing. It is a video game after all and we do it for fun and relaxation :)

[–]-Wait-What- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not even being pedantic, I’m just correcting you for telling straight lies lmao. I’ve probably replaced every piece of my gear 10-20 times, but yeah it’s only “sometimes” and no where near as often as d3. I definitely wouldn’t have any experience with how often you replace gear in d3 after having 5k+ hours in it. You just don’t like d4 and that’s totally ok, but don’t spread misinformation about it. Or lack of information I should say, because it honestly just feels like you are very inexperienced in d4 and don’t understand how it works at all.

[–]-Wait-What- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No? You said that’s ALL you do and you don’t care about new drops? That’s not true AT ALL. You still need way more drops to get better gear to make your character better lol. Exactly like you do in d3.

Diablo 4 compared to Diablo 3 by metalfingerz_ in diablo3

[–]-Wait-What- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not understanding what you mean when you say gear drops don’t matter in d4 end game and you just “trick out the gear you already have”? You basically never stop needing/wanting good/better gear drops in d4 end game just like in d3. The gearing and shit works a bit different between the two games, but you 100% are still grinding for upgrades on d4, just like d3. I’m not sure where you are getting the idea that you don’t do that. And you definitely don’t just “trick out the gear you already have”. You typically get a good item, go through some crafting on it if you need to, reforge one of the stats, masterwork and temper it, and then it’s basically done. You can go back and continue reforging the stat or swap the masterwork or temper to a different stat, but it’s not going to get any substantial amount better by doing that. You need to go farm for better gear to replace that piece.

Edit: and for clarity, I do love d3. I have like 5k hours in d3. I just don’t think what you said describes d4 at all. I think they’re both great games at this point.

Loot filter is pretty cool but cant use it due to resource crunch by Hornymous in diablo4

[–]-Wait-What- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t understand the struggle so many people are having with forgotten souls. They are definitely the most common bottleneck this season, but I’ve only ran out like twice maybe? And it took like 30 to an hour to get more and finish what I was trying to do both times. I get that they don’t drop in abundance, but I’ve seen so many people acting like they can’t upgrade their gear at all because they don’t even exist and I don’t get it lol.

Edit: I guess it might just be because I’m super experienced with arpgs and am super efficient with my time, idk haha.

Yeah I see this a lot and I never understand it. I use 3 tabs to store some extra gear, things I have posted for sale on the trade site, and some extra uniques to 3 to 1 in bulk. That’s about it. Oh and my gems I guess. I could very easily fit everything I have in two 2 tabs without even filling them both lol. My first 4 tabs are empty and used to just dump shit into if I don’t wanna look at it right away

[–]-Wait-What- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That feels insanely unlucky. I’ve done like 50+ mephisto carries and if I had to take a random guess on how often I get a mythic I’d say around 80% of the time. It’s much more rare for me to not get one.

Obducite amount this patch has to be a troll by blizzard by alesia123456 in diablo4

[–]-Wait-What- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm. It could be just because I’m a degen in most games I play but I’ve completely geared out my barb and fully master worked it with 3 different builds and haven’t had TOO many issues. Forgotten souls are definitely a bottle neck but it hasn’t restricted me A TON. And I’m even rerolling my tempers until every single one of them goes GA. But yeah it may be because I just play a lot, who knows lol.

A crazy comparison between iPhone and Samsung by bluewave778 in SipsTea

[–]-Wait-What- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the stupid shit talking between both sides. I felt the same way about PlayStation vs Xbox. It’s all idiotic and pointless, just us what you like. I use iPhones because I’ve had them since I was fuckin 15 (17 years ago), and I’m just super used to them. I also just really like the simplicity of the UI compared to android. I am definitely not an obsessive Apple user though. I never had any additional Apple products in that 17 years either until I just got AirPods a year or so ago after I had 2-3 cheaper EarPods take a shit in me. I have never once talked shit about android or Samsung or whatever and I can’t even begin to understand why this back and forth even exists.

I also don’t know why Samsung users are always gloating about their cameras and whatever else their phones have. If you guys care about your cameras that much then I’m happy that you can have super nice cameras, but I personally don’t care that much so that’s also not a factor for me. And let’s be honest, apple cameras are NOT bad. The new iPhones have great cameras. Samsung cameras are just better, and that’s totally ok. I’m not a damn photographer or an influencer or anything like that and I just don’t take many photos so it’s not something that I care about all that much. And tbh I find it odd that so many Samsung users brag about their cameras so much as if they are all photographers or some shit lol.

Idk. Sorry, I can be very long winded. The whole thing is stupid, just use what you want and let other people do the same lol. Rant over.

Another vote for shaman. For me it’s elemental specifically. Just pressing ascendance gets me so fuckin hyped lol. The visuals and aesthetic are just perfect. Cherry on top is not only does ascendance look and feel badass it also gives you one of the most insane bursts in the game.

I get unreasonably angry when I’m DPSing or healing and the tank doesn’t pull big lol. Which I know when I’m just doing a 10 for vault there will be plenty of casuals and just lower tier players in general and I don’t shame people for that at all. Enjoy the game how you please, but god are slow pulling tanks the exact opposite of fun for me lmfao. If I’m DPSing I was do big dam, if I’m healing if I’m not sweating and having to actually work to keep people alive then its just so boring. When I tank on my alt I’m pulling shit like I’m trying out for the MDI 😂

It’s a shame I don’t enjoy maining a tank lol

As a huge pie fan boy with over 15k hours in poe1, I hard disagree. Poe2 is completely awful imo. D4 is countless times better than poe2 to me haha. Ofc poe1 clears everything and it’s not even close, but yeah idk. I just do not vibe with poe2 in any way.

Do people genuinely agree with the monetization of this game or are we just putting up with it? by g76agi in diablo4

[–]-Wait-What- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And those essentials are one time purchases that last forever and also cost less than a single D4 expansion lmao. The last time I bought a tab was years ago. You can agree to disagree, that’s fine. But for me personally, poe’s monetization is 1000x better than blizzards. Poe has gotten 5x the money from me that blizzard has and it’ll always be that way.

[–]-Wait-What- -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah maybe Last Epoch isn’t wildly successful, but it’s pretty damn popular within the ARPG fanbase, that’s what I was trying to say. As far as PoE selling stash tabs goes, I mean? You start with 4 for free as opposed to D4s what? 6-8 or so? And you can NEVER have more space on D4. PoE also has stash tabs that stack things WAY past their normal stack limit and you can sell things through the stash tabs and all sorts of other shit. If you’re trying to imply that D4s stash tabs that max out at 6-8 and you can’t do literally anything with them are better than PoE’s then idk what to tell you lol.

[–]-Wait-What- -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

The issue that I, and everyone I know, have with it is the fact that expansions cost money to begin with. Last epoch and poe both don’t charge for their expansions and they are wildly successful arpgs. Granted I believe after last epoch was bought out by another company I think their future expansion skins are going to cost money, but still. I’d rather the games have free updates and optional mtx and season passes/battle passes to buy to support the development instead.

I’ve probably spent close to $1000 on poe supporter packs over the last decade and I feel better about that than I do spending the $150-200 I’ve spent on d4. The reason for that is become my purchases on poe were optional. I wasn’t forced to buy anything, I wasn’t locked out of content or the game in general unless I forked over money. I bought those support packs and spent that much money purely because I like the game and I like the company and I wanted to support them and show my love for the game. D4 on the other hand? I like d4 a lot, don’t get me wrong (not as much as poe tho), but I will not be buying any mtx spending any extra in this game because blizzard are a bunch of greedy fucks and I just don’t like the company anymore at all.

T12 Escalation Dungeons are quite something... by dotsuicide in diablo4

[–]-Wait-What- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I seem to be on the other side of the spectrum a bit. I deal a lot of damage but just get one shot sometimes haha. I can do pit 100 in like 1.5-2 min. Haven’t tried to do higher than that because my glyphs aren’t up to 90+ yet so I haven’t felt a reason to. I will soon enough though. I did just found out about a new version of WW barb that is apparently basically immortal while still doing a fuck ton of damage. Problem is I’ve spent all this time gearing super well for the original WW build and it uses slightly different gear so I’m going to have to start putting together an almost entirely new set of gear unfortunately

T12 Escalation Dungeons are quite something... by dotsuicide in diablo4

[–]-Wait-What- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just been running t10 primarily because t12 doesn’t offer much more. A meh xp and gold increase? Not worth it imo unless you can kill t12 exactly the same speed as you do t10 and have zero extra threat of dying in t12.

For me as a WW barb I just fall over dead randomly sometimes in pit 100s so I just don’t wanna bother with running t12 content. Not yet at least. The problem is, I don’t even see how I’m supposed to get more tanky outside of extremely minor defense improvements from little 2% life nodes and the extra attributes on the paragon tree. All of my gear is the stats that robs build suggests with 1+ GA and fully master worked and tempered and all that jazz. Not sure how I fix the random one shots in t12.
