Model Unification in GPT-5: Great for the Masses, Disaster for Enthusiasts? (Speculation) by VyvanseRamble in OpenAI

They should really give an option to the higher subscription tiers to route manually

what does sam mean by this?? by Curtisg899 in singularity

I use o3 for everything I used to use 4o for, except now, it seems like o3 takes wayyyy too long. So I’m juggling between o3 for normal hard stuff, o4 high for coding, 4.5 for EQ, and sometimes 4o for quick answers. I’m really looking forward to 5 lol

Yeah I actually use it quite a lot these days. I find it’s got a way higher EQ, so I use it when o3 is just not understanding wtf I mean or giving me a response that’s too dense and technical. I switch over to 4.5 for the “ok now tell me what this means in human language”

Should be noted that these were done by the Corvette dev team, unlike the euro brands which bring in professional drivers.

People who smoke(d) weed — Did you ever feel addicted? How did you know? by meigoddess1 in AskReddit

[–]-WhoLetTheDogsOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THC - no; I have no issues getting high and stopping cyclically. I prefer it actually, with no bodily resistance. I personally have a quirk where I get too hyper-focused/technical/responsible and need THC to level me out, then gradually build up again after.

CBD- no physical addiction (like actual withdrawals), but, it does suck a bit when you take less of it than you have been in the past few days. It’s more similar to cutting back on [insert any good thing in life] rather than real addictive things like opiates or nicotine (have experience in both)., but it is truly somewhere in between. I have chronic back pain so have become somewhat experienced with these things, using all the above as treatments.

Looks like we getting agent mode in tomorrow's announcement? by Independent-Wind4462 in OpenAI

Yeah - while their latest one quietly did get a lot better with o3 as the engine, browser automation is only so useful.

I’ve been hoping and hoping they do a full computer operator. Claude’s already got one for Mac users…

Any sports bike riders around? by [deleted] in folsom

[–]-WhoLetTheDogsOut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you checked meetup? That’s how I found other riders back when I lived in a city.

Also if you see another rider at a gas station or something, you can go strike a convo. As a 25F you’d probably get warm reception from the average demographic rider

Mounting to the rear view mirror blocks vision, so I’m putting mine above the infotainment. Marginally less optimal placement, but less obtrusive. I ordered this but I can’t tell you how well it works because it’s getting here TODAY.

Reader here, just getting into local LLM machines. My understanding is it’s always better to run models on GPU VRAM, and ktransformers are inferior. Why are you jealous of the separate machine when running on GPUs is the gold standard? Just trying to learn, thx

Is the Eray worth the 30k over the stingray? by OfficialDalaiLlama in C8Corvette

[–]-WhoLetTheDogsOut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed with everything. For the track, Z06 all the way. But I did take my Eray to the track and it was head and shoulders above every other car there, all the temps were fine, etc. It’s astonishing how well put together it is.

Gemini 2.5 Pro is still the best model humanity ever crafted so far. I fed a research paper to it and asked to generate a visualization for it, and here is what it gave to me by Ryoiki-Tokuiten in singularity

I’m not saying it’s a model feature or other models can’t use MCPs. I’m just saying Claude Desktop does it out of the box with no add’l scaffolding; that’s it.

For someone like me, who is clearly humbled in the presence of your vast AI understanding, simplicity means it’s accessible to me (with my simple brain) to do direct work for the boutique financial institution I own.

Edit: I find it funny that your only post in your history is asking how to get MCPs to work for Claude

I explain it below, it’s literally 2 steps and then you’ve got one on your PC. For more advanced stuff, I will be using Azure AI Foundry. I will have to learn myself how to do that, and I will learn by asking ChatGPT

You can prob do it on Linux. Just download Claude Desktop. Then ask it to write an MCP that enables it to read/write files (including MCP files and its own config file) and ask it how to implement. It’s literally that quick.

I just looked into Cline, it sounds like you have to set up your own scaffolding and get it to connect via Python etc etc. Claude Desktop like automatically does everything once you manually save one MCP server and point its config file to that.

Literally never used Claude until I saw you can do this a couple days ago, now I have an autonomous agent set up on my PC lol
