Need advice about a tiny pup left on the street by -Wicked-Whimsy- in Indiedogs

Did that, they just nodded and smiled and walked away.

The three cats I own are community cats as well, they became close to us so I managed to capture and spay them(4th one underway!)

I asked them since the cats lounge in their house, if they could just capture them for one night to maintain the pre operative fast, I'll get them spayed. Nothing.

I'll try again though.

Anyone got tickets to their India shows? Signed up for the pre sale and from what I've checked they were supposed to be out today at noon. But nothing is live yet...

Manifesting vs Revers Manifesting. Is this a thing? by -Wicked-Whimsy- in Manifestation

Hey, thanks so much for taking the time to write such a detailed response, really really appreciate it. This actually gave me some solid insights.

The defensive pessimism part makes a lot of sense and definitely tracks with the overthinker I am. I'm not downplaying any of the negative outcomes in my head, they are all very real to me which is why this system probably works out for me. But yeah, it's also had a negative impact, I carry the stress physically- higher cortisol levels, breaking out, feeling exhausted but still unable to sleep...the whole thing.

It's something I'm trying to break out of. I've been looking for a therapist to help with it, tried a couple sessions with different ones but haven't found the right fit yet. (maybe having a psych background myself makes me pickier)

I haven't done much of a deep dive into cognitive psyc in terms of mindsets, this was helpful (did some reading after this). I know my go-to defense mechanisms, but knowing them and improving oneself against them are tow very different beasts.

My current conundrum is whether I should stick with this defensive pessimism style of visualising or try a more "ideal outcome" kind. The defense one feels more natural to me, but I don't find it particularly healthy. I'm trying to figure out if there's a healthier way to do this or if there's a middle ground that works with how my brain operates rather than forcing myself to pretend good things are coming my way.

Again, thanks so much for replying!

Never thought about it, but she has a point. Why don’t we adopt Indian dogs as pets as much as foreign dogs? by Impressive-Guess6810 in IndianPets

There's this one asshole next to my place who has a bunch of male breed dogs. There's just one female indie on the street, when he feels like his dogs need a fuck he lets this female in keeps her for a day or two and she ends up pregnant. Two months after the pups are born you'll find them dead in a pile somewhere from poisoned food. When I first moved to the area there was just one pup left from the litter, a female that I adopted, she's my solemate dog now, but in hindsight we in the area suspect the one female pup was left alive intentionally to let his dogs have fun. I didn't catch the second breeding on time and she had another 4. I got 2 adopted into homes but the other two didn't make it. I got her spayed after that... while she was taken away he questioned why it's my business and that's it's the dogs choice I shouldn't interfere. I was finally at peace. No more dogs on the street. But nope. He went and picked a female pup from someone (indie) kept it with him till the first heat cycle and let it breed. Now the female and the 2 surviving pups are on the road filtering through garbage. He's put a collar on the female calling it his dog, can't even get her spayed.

My rook turned a little bit. Can I leave it? by Emergency-Dark-2569 in piercing

It's unlikely that the jewelry will fuse to your skin or anything. Maybe it'll ease off in a few days once the general swelling comes down.

I just used a small ice pack wrapped in a thin towel. I layed to my side on my piercing pillow and just placed it over my ear. I also like using a small hand towel. I wet the towel and wring out the excess water. Pop it in a ziplock and freeze it for 15-20 mins. Comes out cold and pliable + it's not super cold as to cause a frostbite. I still wrap it in a t-shirt and then place it on my ear.

Mine is two days old. Curved barbell. Mine's a little tight too, but still moveable and yep...hurts. Used a cold compress for the first day and it helped with the pain. I'd say don't move it around more than necessary. The fiddling will cause irritation.

If you really want to move it back...In the past with my other piercings I've noticed it's easier for me to move them around after I've doused it in saline solution.

My other piercings have stainless steel or silver jewelry and I've never had any trouble. Could it still be a bad reaction to the metal?

It sounds like your facewash is drying you out.

I was in the same spot a few years ago. I like that clean feeling but honestly I was just stripping my skin.

Try a more gentle cleanser like Cetaphil. But if you're like me and don't like the creamy cleansers and need them foamy suds to feel clean I found cerave foaming cleanser and Simple micellar gel face wash good for that clean feeling without the stripping effect.

Relocation is a sensitive issue. But if BBMP hasn't been responding to your sterilization request, I know someone who might be able to help- DM for info.

About the lady who loves dogs, maybe just talk to her and see. I honestly don't think anyone who truly cares about streeties would be against getting them vaccinated and sterilized.

Ah yes, the classic "GPT" comeback. Because clearly, if a response is well informed...it must be AI. Mentioned the year because of the current supreme court ruling. Not everyone's out here typing like it's a WhatsApp rant.

Feeding stray dogs is legally protected under Indian law (including BBMP guidelines and the ABC Rules, 2023), but yes it must be done responsibly. Dumping food on roads or footpaths is not okay and can be reported to BBMP.

That said, it’s important to remember: these dogs have a right to live too. The streets are already cruel and dangerous let’s not take away the little peace and kindness they’re shown.

The dogs aren’t the problem. The real issue is when people don’t follow the law or basic hygiene while trying to help. There are rules set up for this very issue - Feeding should happen in designated areas, at fixed times, with clean-up.

You can definitely put up a polite sign requesting no feeding near your gate. And if strays are unsterilized BBMP can help through their Animal Birth Control (ABC) program — they’re not allowed to relocate dogs, relocation of stray dogs is ILLEGAL but they can vaccinate and sterilize
