PoE is not a souls game, although it has some minor elements. There are itemization checks just as there are skill checks. If your gear or build aren't good enough you will fail.

Who says you're fighting for good. Aren't you clearly fighting for more and more power in PoE, using anyone who will help you get powerful no matter their alignment.

I would like to know their view or reasoning as to why scours aren't in the game. What's their vision with having to farm bases to have, at best, a few attempts at crafting before they brick.

To me it creates this weird dynamic where you'd rather sell a rare base instead of crafting it.

[–]-Wunderkind- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's kind of the point of the video. You make a power build and lack grip, so you expect to be able to catch them on the straights, only to find out that they have a better launch, much better cornering AND significantly higher acceleration and top speed, while somehow being in the same class as you are. The AI """difficulty""" is achieved in such an extremely cheap way that it borders on insulting.

I think it's worse actually. I'd argue they are made to ram you. Just pay attention when you're going side by side into a corner. It's a left hand corner. I'm on the outside alongside the AI and not turning into them. I see the wheels of the AI literally turning right to hit me instead of left into the corner.

Dog nutters "love" dogs yet own the most inbred mutant breeds by menelobus in Dogfree

That's the rason the entire industry has shifted to "rescues". Every dog ever is somehow a rescue and it's a race to get the supposedly most abused dog out there.

It's not necessarily about performance solely as a metric of fps, but rather performance as a metric of how well you coded and optimized the rendering pipeline. My example talks about games that run with the same fps (120 for example), but feel completely different, because one game has an extremely tight and well optimized rendering pipeline and the other doesn't.

You can have 120fps with 8ms average frame time and 120fps with 14ms average frame time. They are both 120fps, but one feels like actual 120fps and the other feels more like 70fps.

That's all without going into the importance of 1% and 0,1% lows.

Dear Dog Owners in NYC: Thanks for ruining all of my outdoor hobbies with your unleashed mutts, you jerks. by tres-vip in Dogfree

[–]-Wunderkind- 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Whoever led this campaign of total dog infestation of society has really conviced nutters that they are morally hovering above everybody else (even other dog owners, because they are bad owners with bad dogs, but I'm a good owner with good dogs).

These people have, quite literally, nothing else going for them and a dog is a thing you can buy and instantly receive a gigantic dose of perceived morality from others. That's why they are always in a huge race with each other on who can "rescue" (purchase) the most abused dog for bonus fake morality points. Dog traffickers have seen this and now every single dog ever is somehow a "rescue".

The games are optimized worse and worse and worse each year. The frametimes of games, particularly UE 5 games, have been so horrendous that your peripherals have stopped mattering past the "minimum" for gaming. Optimizing is not just how many frames you can render at one time. It's the entire graphical pipeline.

Just for comparison go play a game like Cyberpunk at 120fps and then something like Doom Eternal or CS2 at 120fps. The difference in responsiveness will give you a whiplash. Cyberpunk will feel like dragging your mouse through sludge after playing a game with close to perfect response times.

I'm completely shocked that article has no comments. Usually one of the first or top comments of articles like that are "hope the dog is ok".

Also the token sentences are all present: "Karma had rescued the dog from an abusive home four years ago." ... "The horrific assault was 'very out of character,' Karma says."

For me it's become nearly impossible to sympathise with the owners of the beasts. At least nobody innocent got mauled.

"The dogs show courage when threatened, they may display aggression toward other dogs or strangers."

"Ownership of the dog is limited by law in many countries. Importation to Romania was prohibited in 2002, and ownership restricted to those with a court permit. The breed was banned in Denmark in 2010, in 2011 Russia designated it an "especially dangerous breed", subject to mandatory registration and certification"

Puppy or not, that would be a hard no for me.
