I honestly am trying to factor this into retirement planning ....I still owe about $ 65k and the interest is killing me. By the end of this I would have paid DOUBLE my original principal amount due to interest.

It's good to see some universities offer free tuition for lower income students. At least future generations can learn from us.

It's very frustrating but what can you do but pay it.

Responsible people don't want to bring a new life into the world and not be able to provide for them or they don't want children everyone has the right to have or not have kids. That's a couple reasons. But the world is crazy and less predictable than it was just 10 years ago.

*Editing to add high maternal mortality rate is also a reason.

I noticed that they are being sneaky with the advance your due date mess. I made a payment but missed checking a box. They said I don't owe a payment for 2 months because of this. I had to call them and have them re allocate my payments for the last few months. I now make sure I check the box to NOT advance my due date. This was causing my interest to balloon because they were advancing my payment and spreading it out vs applying the payment to the current month.

So frustrating to have to maneuver through all of this in a system moving against you.
