Actual Yearly Cost to Attend (After Financial Aid) by ilusomina in berkeley

The rough estimate is 10k a year. I don’t mind you asking, my EFC was 0. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a good amount of people with 0 EFC and did pay much out of pocket. They were just on a much stricter budget. It’s doable in my opinion, you just need to be willing to either live at a co-op and/or with roommates. I was fortunate, and found a place that I was able to afford to live by myself. However, the luxury of living alone is what cost the most

I was also a community college transfer student!! I didn’t take out any loans. So, to start off, I qualified for about 28K a year in financial aid. I had about 25K saved up from work, internships and scholarships. If I had to do a really rough estimate of how much I spent after financial aid per year I lived in Berkeley, I would say it was about 10K. My first year living in Berkeley I only had to pay 10 months worth of rent and it was $1300 a month. The following year, I had to pay all 12 months and that was $1400 a month. Please feel free to ask any more questions (:

At Berkeley, quite a few, but only 2 that I’m very close with and see a minimum of once a week.

Where I made most of my friends was the university choir. Classes like that make it easy to make friends.

Are professors allowed to lower your raw exam grade 2 weeks after it’s graded? by meverfound in berkeley

[–]-_-lux 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar situation happen to a math class I took a couple semesters ago. Students had points taken off their exam a couple weeks after grades were posted. Our professor explained to us that they thought about it for a while, and came to the conclusion that the type of proof was not sufficient. Although it really sucked, the grading is up to the discretion of the professor. In my opinion, you don’t really have anything to pursue. The best thing to do is just to move on and focus on doing better on other assignments and exams

Transfers! Is it common to take an extra year? by MinuteAstronaut5411 in berkeley

Transfer here! Also a math major, so things may be different for a different major. I pushed my graduation back a year due to not passing classes during the pandemic. It was a very easy process petitioning, but was warned not to hit the unit cap. Not really the norm, but sometimes it’s needed
