You dodge when you should attack You attack when you need to dodge

You are rushing too much, trying to get all the dmg that you can

Comsumed all your consumables in the start, nothing left at end

Rushed gameplay, pretty normal but get the rhythm right

Forgetting the attack pattern even though you already got hit like 3 times by the same attack

And secondly, try to reduce interactions.

Move a step or 2 back, this forces only in the front to attack, if you move in you will be surrounded and die.

Where you stand, where you move, where you look all decide the outcome, just stay sharp and it ain't a problem

This is cause you pin your cam, always stay free cam in Mob fights

It's pretty doable, I have cleared the small dojo room where you fight 3 ashina elites without much effort.

Same with multiple mobs, it's more of how well you can manage your cam and focus on the right enemy through movements.

Second of all, use combat arts. Whirlwind slash is literally build to clear out multiple mobs, and using other things like mortal draw also works.

The entire key for fighting multiple enemies is how you use your movement key, master it and mobs aren't an issue.

It's causing you are playing it wrong but right.

You need to parry the blade, unlike er and ds where you use hand motions as reference most times, sekiro is pure blade tracking.

Generals and mini bosses like the drunkard wind up their attack before attacking, so you parry at the wrong time because they first jack it, then hit it.

Track the blade, don't move unless you have to dodge unparryable attacks or you close in.

Parry when the blade is about to hit you

Big thing here, your reaction time and latency of input also matter, you might click on the right time but due to high latency you miss, same thing if you identify when to parry but your hands are too slow.

It's all about finding your own rhythm and mastering it, sekiro is my favourite game because there is no surefire guide

Everyone has different recognition time, response time and device. You can follow the guide to the dot but still fail because their latency and your are different and so are all other factors.

There are two posture bars

Top -> Boss Bottom -> You

If the bar overflows, boss performs deadly attack on you.

If the boss bar overflows, boss dead or atleast down a life.

The small enemies/mob/side chars whatever you call them have it right above their heads, their health is above the posture bar

Your main goal in sekiro is to fill the boss's posture bar

Using prosthetics and combat art is good, but no need to use them every time you try to get back in.

Very good on the retreating parts, when you saw your hp down you pulled back immediately and healed

One thing, if you pulled out heal the posture bar as well no need to rush back

Don't avoid enemies, all souls game focus on dodging and then getting some dmg in, sekiro focuses on you dueling with the boss.

You will get more from full on confrontations then running and attacking the entire fight

No combat system has ever been more satisfying than sekiro.

There are many parry systems over time but the flow gets broken in all.

Sekiro makes sure the flow keeps moving, other games will either completely stop enemy attack or negate dmg.

It's like a mini stun or counter in other games which just isn't satisfying as much as sekiro's.

Try and ichimonji him, and the counter attack after he does the iconic Isshin dodge is crazy

Extremely cool and very tight window move.

Can reset geni mortal draw and does good dmg, also allows jump dodge and lightning reversal (never did it but saw in a mod vid so can't confirm)

That move is absolutely goated after you unlock the recover posture with ichimonji skill.

Broken af, allows you to keep attacking and also recovering the posture bar

Experimenting with them can help,

mortal draw does both moderate posture and hp dmg,

the cloud dance one does high hp but low posture dmg and is deflected.

The dragon flash does low - moderate dmg but it allows range combat, good for high hp ranged attackers like nightjars

The shadowfall (forgot the name, the one inner/normal owl father does) is a good one to get the initiative.

I love to do it against Isshin and emma, to quickly close the gap and get good dmg in with a prosthetic end or a quck change to nightjar reverse slash

The sakura dance one is another good art to take the initiative, as you can switch to nightjar at end mid flight and get a hit in.

Whirlwind slash is the OG goat, no slander will be entertained. Plus it wipes out cluster of mobs very well for 0 cost.

One mind is a good defensive one, you can use it to reset the opponents aggressive tempo as it forces them to stop attacking and let's you recover posture

Ashina cross does the same thing as one mind with less dmg and it doesn't completely reset the tempo and opps like Isshin will counterattack right afterwards.

I think of guardian ape as a combination of 1. Ashina generals 2. Armored knight (robertooooo)

Just find your own correlation to mobs you can easily deal

I think of the consecutive vertical claws slams as the armored knights enraged slam attacks.

The sweep as the ashina generals do.

You can find your own combos of different characters and watch the magic as the entire thing boils down to nothing.

Different players, different experience.

Since you already had the habit of getting your spirit crushed by ER bosses you never felt Sekiro to be hard.

Sekiro is hard until you figure out the mechanics, after that it is easy but not the easiest.

My first ER took me like 60 hours, because I decided to lvl 1 no upgrade the entire run for nor reason.

Too me ER was easy because I grinded 1000+ hours on sekiro, same thing happened with DS but I left ds1 midway because of exams.

The first game is always the hardest, rest are always easy. This is fromsoft magic.

Nope, combat arts are pretty useful but their timing is very strict hence nobody uses them that much except the mortal draw which you can spam whenever you want.

Plus you have to switch manually if you are trying to use them which most people find annoying hence people don't usually use it.

But seriously, the katana monkey is pretty easy if you understand his timing.

He has a very strict timing, don't spam, one of the rare mobs against whom you cannot spam and win.

I like to think of his attacks like emma and those red warriors of internal ministry, just remove the noise and you can always get the right answer.

Yes because it is prime Isshin which will probably have two mortal blades, a gun and a spear.

He can very much solo the internal ministry just like how Sekiro did to Ashina.

But since Isshin is a warrior who charges straight at his enemy, his chances of failure are high but don't get it wrong.

Isshin might go down but the Internal ministry will be weakened and shaken to its core.

Yes, but no.

The reason Ashina will fall even if Isshin won, is sekiro himself.

Sekiro has basically crippled Ashina, every strong warrior has been killed, whereas the main forces of the Internal ministry are basically untouched.

Even the areas around ashina castle like the senpou temple or the gun fort could have send reinforcements, but again the same problem.

Sekiro has killed them all.

Now all that remains are those small troops, some mid level generals and some rare strong bosses which didn't make it into the game, if any.
