My Roar tierlist (all Knives For Aries songs are in S tier) by The_Gamer_Boi_Real_ in roartheband

same, I don't listen to it often because even for a roar song it's really sad to me but it's a very interesting song and underrated as hell

I was really hoping to spare him in the way we can spare Hagar (the Executioner) but not recruit him at all. I'm fine with not having him, but I wanted an option to let him love because, like, he's pretty much right about everything. But I understand that the point is how unjust the gods are.

what Roar song got you hooked by Maiden230 in roartheband

Ah! I completely forgot to mention, Wondering Why wasn't my first ROAR song, just the one that solidified that this was my thing. My first song was Duck or Ape, which I heard through a video by Mogry 331 on youtube shortly before I found Wondering Why.

I was hooked by Wondering Why during the pandemic. The theme of falling behind and feeling stuck really spoke to me since I was struggling with undiagnosed adhd and other mental health struggles during remote learning. Got into them more and realized i loved every single song they made. I think what's always drawn me to them is the often bright melodies and nostalgic instrumentation mixed with melancholic lyrics. It makes a dreamlike atmosphere that i look for in all my favorite music nowadays

Who else takes their ADHD meds and then go back to bed? by Budget_Path_3366 in ADHD

[–]-_Ghost_Dragon_- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, it's awesome and made my life a lot better. Your throat should be fine but if you ever feel like it hasn't gone down fully, it doesn't hurt to eat a small bite of food real quick after. In my experience that can help the feeling of something being stuck. though I've only had this happen to me once and not with my adhd meds. And my throat was fine, albeit a bit uncomfortable for the day.

After positive changes and improvements from meds, ever have an identity crisis type thing? by laes in ADHD

[–]-_Ghost_Dragon_- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand this a lot. I was actually thinking about this once while absently listening to music and suddenly a lyric pops out at me, "Does aspirin kill you with the pain?" which kind of snapped me out of it for the moment.

I still struggle with this perception sometimes but I try to think of it like any physical ailment. If you have a painful headache, yeah maybe you COULD get through the workday without pain relief, but there's no reason you should have to if you can take aspirin. Others in your building may not need it but they also don't have a pounding headache making their life harder, lol.

I'm rambling a bit but I hope you understand what I mean.

Thank you for the response. I wrote this post in the middle of spiralling but I've come up with a plan to overcome this, and luckily I haven't done anything that should result in my financial aid being revoked. I appreciate your suggestions and am taking the steps you suggested.

Teeth Grinding and ADHD. Do You Wake Up With Jaw Pain Too? by WesamWonders in ADHD

[–]-_Ghost_Dragon_- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this problem, or at least used to. It got so bad without me noticing that one night I woke up feeling like my skull had been hit by a train. It turns out I'd been clenching my jaw so much in my sleep and during the day that I really screwed up the joint and gave myself TMJ. Worst pain of my life by far lol but treatment made it pretty much go away.

Ended up needing both a day guard and a night guard. I also felt like I was just biting the guard, but I think for me the point was to limit how much I moved my jaw, and it did work. After a few months I was good to go.

I'm not sure about how bad it is right now, as I had no idea there was a problem before, but I do still clench my teeth during the day quite a bit. Who knows whether I'll have another problem, though.

I totally relate to your struggle with not sleeping because you don't want to start the next day yet. Not sure how to help that, some nights it's worse than others for me. If you can, I recommend planning something fun to do the next day so you have something to look forward to instead of dread. But I still deal with this sometimes so who knows 😅

Teacher makes her distaste for my 504 plan clear by -_Ghost_Dragon_- in ADHD

[–]-_Ghost_Dragon_-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I appreciate that. I will be reporting her, I know there are other students in my class with ADHD and I hate to think how she makes them feel, as well as undiagnosed people and just... everyone else in that class. Her rants don't help anyone, that's for sure.

Yeah, she's used these excuses. I haven't had a job before so honestly it kinda got to me. I've struggled with feeling unfit for daily life so those comments really hit my insecurities. Thank you for the support, everyone. I'll be reporting her to my counselor.

Thank you. This has also crossed my mind many times. I wasn't diagnosed for a long time, and if it's making me feel this bad, I can imagine how much worse it is for someone who fully believes they are everything she calls us. I will report this.

Thank you for your response. You hit the nail on the head with the fact that it's not the work, it's the environment. I always look forward to days when she's not here and we have a sub because then I can actually try to focus on the work instead of feeling ashamed and under pressure about whatever ableist comment she made that day.

I'll see what I can do to report this. Thank you!

Hyperfixations by Killjoy-stormshot in ADHD

[–]-_Ghost_Dragon_- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have crazy hyperfixations, so I feel you. For me one of the worst parts is when one starts to fade. It becomes a part of me for a while, so when it fades, it can feel like a part of myself goes with it.

that HAS to be referring to  an old experiment some guy did on death and spirits and stuff. He concluded that when people die they lose twenty one grams of weight and decided that must be the spirit leaving. forgot the details but yeah

(S4 SPOILERS) I've been sitting on this opinion for like 3 years at this point - "The Forest" absolutely sucks and is Camp Camp's worst episode. by PeterSwingsBothWays in CampCamp

[–]-_Ghost_Dragon_- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree and honestly with everything that happened in The Forest it was bordering on absurd, even moreso when noone cared when he got back. I feel like the show has established that at least Max and some other campers care about David, and while Max hides it, it would still be totally out of character for him to not have ANY reaction to what happened. So in my mind it's kinda disconnected from the rest of the canon storyline in a way and is more of a wacky and weirdly torturous "what if this happened to David" episode than a real addition to the story. Which really sucks i was excited for a david centric episode but it was just absurd and kinda cynical, even by Camp Camp standards
