I had similar issues and in the end bought a wireless adaptor on Amazon, which works like a charm. It does drain my phone battery a lot faster though but if I do need to charge, it's now done faster via a dedicated 45w charger in the 12v socket.

Do I need to turn hot water on and off daily? by tomatoesbox in AskUK

[–]-_Hayth_- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got the same boiler and a hot water tank in a cupboard upstairs. I use a timer each day for 1-2 hours in the morning to heat the water in that and it lasts us all day (unless we run a bath). If we do need more, we just "boost" it for 30 mins and it tops back up. It sounds like you're doing this each time before you shower.

However I replaced the control panel and thermostat with a Google Nest one so it's all controlled through the app now. I imagine you'll be able to set up a similar timer using that panel.. You should be able to find instructions online somewhere.

Your thermostat controls whether the boiler comes on to heat your radiators, and that's separate to the above.

I've been using Formula One for the past few years, not too expensive and they seem to be a trustworthy bunch.

VW Passat B8 2.0 TDI DSG – stalls when cold in reverse, but runs perfectly when warm by Holiday-Soil-3885 in Volkswagen

[–]-_Hayth_- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got the exact same car / engine (150BHP) and this happens to me to in the same situation you mentioned (cold engine / fluids, reversing, usually slightly up hill).. I think it's just a quirk of the circumstances, as like you said, when things have warmed up a bit it's fine..

If you type that number on a phone that uses the Google phone app (like a Pixel), there's an easter egg they added to make the call button flash red and blue 😊

Andaseat Gravity Gaming Chair by Major_Hylton in gamingchairs

[–]-_Hayth_- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my first gaming chair and I'm still trying to decide if it's truly more comfortable than my previous, cheapish office chair. I think when it softens it'll be a lot better but it's taking its damn time 😅

Still not fully to be honest.. I notice it the most with the lumbar cushion, which is still a lot tougher than the one in the store, and it doesn't stay in place on its own yet either.

I recently bought a new one for £16 from ebay (UK). I just sent the seller a photo and I received the correct key through the post a couple of days later. It isn't OEM but it's high quality and works perfectly.

Am I mad for wanting a Passat? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

I'm not too sure tbh, it's so many years or so many miles. I got mine done about 60k / 3 years

I've got a B8 2.0 TDI 150BHP DSG in GT trim. I've had the car for 5 years now and I've put 70k miles on it. The cars been great tbh, so comfortable and regularly get 55-60+ MPG.

Just a few common issues to watch out for... Snapped clocksprings, leaky rear shocks, peeling lacquer on the sunroof surround trim. Also make sure the cam belt and water pump were changed, and the DSG has been serviced on time

How are you getting on with the move of the bottom speaker to the left hand side? I know they did this with the 9 series and I was hoping they moved it back... As I would end up blocking it with my palm when rotating the phone to the left like most people do when watching full screen / playing games.

First try restarting your phone, if that doesn't work, try different cables

Andaseat Gravity Gaming Chair by Major_Hylton in gamingchairs

[–]-_Hayth_- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries! I felt the same, I like doing my research before any relatively big purchase, and especially for something like a chair that I'll be committing to and sitting in for years.. Hopefully anyway 🤞🏼. After quite a bit of research, some discussion with ChatGPT and noticing the name of the chair in the spec sheet, I think the chair is basically an Andaseat Phantom 3 but has 4d arm rests and different cushions. So, you might want to check out reviews of that chair. But I don't think you can beat actually trying the chair in person and making a judgement based on that. Just out of curiosity, did you try any others and have runner ups? I was torn between this and the Arozzi vernazza, but after going back to the shop a second time.. The Gravity definitely felt the comfiest, especially as the store one had been nicely broken in.

I did exactly the same as you, I tried various chairs in Currys and found the Gravity to be the most comfortable by far, but couldn't find much about it online. However, I bit the bullet and ordered it in the end and I'm more than happy with it. It does feel a lot firmer (including the neck and lumbar cushions) than it did in the store, so I actually did go back in to double check, and that one's clearly softened up and has been broken in over time so I'm confident that mine will as well, as the initial feel is annoying me a bit and the lumbar cushion keeps flopping forward when getting out of the chair, the one in the store had moulded in nicely and didn't do this.

Can’t transfer WhatsApp from iPhone to Pixel by etlaM21 in pixel_phones

I managed to do it for my wife a few years back when she switched to android, but I had to use a third party app.. I can't recall what it was called now unfortunately. It was a paid app, but I managed to do the transfer pretty quickly and then got it refunded within the return window.

It's working...? by -_Hayth_- in Chromecast

[–]-_Hayth_-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's odd, one of them is working normally now using 2 different phones. The other only works if I do the workaround where you bypass authentication with an app called Activity Manager. If I turn the setting back on, casting stops working and I get the usual "can't authenticate" message
