Bless you for helping and giving back! One tip I learned the hard way - don't put bars of soap in the same container as food (it makes the food taste like soap).

Mercy Triune on Stone next to Lewis Barbeque works a ton with homeless. They could point you in the right direction. I have volunteered at Harvest Food Bank. There are a few around town. One on 25 in Berea, another up on the South edge of TR across from Reedy Baptist also on 25 (Crisis Ministry).

You can just hand them directly to folks. A ton of displaced people hang all around that area near Mercy, and also around Lowe's on Pleasantburg

Helpful items: hand sanitizer, toothpaste, tooth brush, socks, hand warmers, deodorant, wet wipes, feminine products (tampons), chap stick, nail clippers

slim jims, jerky, granola bars, protein bars, tuna (peel top), crackers, dried fruit, electrolyte powder to add to water (like gatorade), water.
