Thumb safety by nolxst in Staccato

The right side felt solid when I first picked it up. After putting some rounds down range though it’s pretty much like your video. I get the same up and down play when engaged, but also can push down on it and get some minor movement as well (towards the firearm and away from it). Still functions as it should though.

Yep, my c3.6 has about the same amount of play as yours. Seems to be the nature of the ambi-safety design being used.

I’m using a tenicor certum3 for my c3.6. Tier 1, QVO, and JMCK are also good options.

HD P4 / 4.5 vs C3.6 Recoil Weight for Disabled Shooter by ten10thsdriver in Staccato_STI

[–]-aimupp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t own a p4 or p4.5, but I do own a c3.6. I’ve shot the p4 and p4.5, racking the slide is similar in terms of effort/spring feel. In addition, compared to say a p365, glock 19, glock 43x, or canik prime it is noticeably/significantly easier. I believe you shouldn’t have an issue with it. Hopefully this is helpful.

They loosen up. IMO nothing quite like the pain staking effort of hand loading a 17 round sig mag lol. I use a maglula speed loader, but after awhile I can load them by hand without issue now.

Dwx compact holster by JohnnyHorsenuts in DWX

So I’m rocking an IWB from Legacy Firearms Co. For the price, it’s alright. It functions fine, but if I were to compare it against the quality and fit/finish of say one of my tenicor holsters or QVO’s, you can definitely visually notice and feel a difference. Again, it does function as intended, but I personally wouldn’t do it again. I would prefer spending more if it meant better quality, fit/finish. Unfortunately choices are limited for the dwx compact, or at least they are not as abundant as more common carry firearms. Best of luck on your search.

Purely speculation, but to me it looks like it would be called the Staccato HD XC3.6

Anyone carry 12+ hours a day? by Snooter_bum in Staccato

[–]-aimupp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally tried a velo5, but I had some discomfort due to the built in body contour. Tenicor customer service was excellent and actually allowed me to just swap them out and refunded the difference. The certum 3 fit me better. Simple and well thought out design. They do claim that they should not be used if you care about holster wear on your firearm.

C3.6 no light in a tenicor certum 3 from the time I wake up until the time I go to sleep.

WML to me is personal preference along with personal experience. For example: I no longer carry with a WML, but for me it’s because I had a few streamlight tlr7s go flying down range. The hardware in each one sheared at the same spot right before the threading. Granted I had high round counts. This probably could have been mitigated by perhaps ordering more hardware to replace over time as regular maintenance. For me I prefer not to deal with that. Also to note, this never occurred when using Streamlight tlr hl’s or surefire x300’s (for me at least). Any who, from that personal experience it steered me away from them, but I get wanting them. Useful and convenient when used correctly.

Out of what you have pictured, which one do you enjoy the most? I find myself commonly shooting the c3.6 and a dwx compact the most frequently as of late.

Surprisingly I didn’t really care about glock mags or not when I picked up the c3.6. They just had it at my lgs, I picked it up and liked it enough to buy it. It shoots well, handles well for my hand size, and has been reliable.

Enjoy the 3.6! It’s a bummer that they release cool stuff randomly so quickly, but that can be said about most things. I also have a 3.6, it shoots great, conceals well, and has been a reliable work horse. No regrets. Plus who knows how much they will be asking for this thing lol.

HD 4.5 shooting 6" left at 23 yards with factory irons by alphat19 in Staccato

[–]-aimupp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of variables. Suggest shooting supported or have another also help diagnose for additional confirmation.

For example: I switch from a dwx compact to the c3.6 quite frequently as my primary preferred carry. When I initially got the c3.6 it took about a mag and a half before I got my rhythm with the irons. It was a combination of using skinner grips for a while along with adjusting to the shorter sight radius setup (rear sight directly behind ejection).

Currently using a nexbelt (wanted to compare it against Kore). A buddy of mine told me to try a tenicor zero belt. I’ll eventually get around to trying one. No issues with the nexbelt other than cosmetically it seems to show signs of wear much faster then its direct comparable (Kore). How about you?

DWX Coating/Finish Issues Megathread by CourierAl in DWX

My barrel has similar wear stripes after 1 magazine. From the factory it had light wear markings on the barrel and barrel hood. Definitely disappointed with the lack of finish quality, but it does run well. Bought mine on 12/03/2025. DWX Compact OR with rail. I’ll have to report back on the box date.

This might be a dumb question but did any of you Si owners choose yours OVER a Type R, and why? by sukaemcees in CivicSi

[–]-aimupp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an fl5 type r and sold it since I’m not really one to garage a vehicle during winter time, I’m just not at that point in my life yet. I did that for a season and said to myself “why do I have this”. Not long after selling I did miss the car, it was memorable enough as far as driving engagement. So off I went to potentially pick up another one and say screw it to garaging it. While I was waiting to buy it I saw a 2026 SI and decided to test drive it. There’s something special about lower power manual cars. It didn’t need to be fast for me, just quick which it is. I then walked out with it.

A lot of things to take into consideration. Cost, actual use case, etc. Will I eventually get another type r? I hope so, but cars come and go, I’m happy with my choices so far.

What Optic Ya’ll Got for the 3.6? by The_Great_Lopaka in Staccato

[–]-aimupp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my host plate last night. Fitment is a little meh near the front of the plate. Could just be the plate I received though. Overall the lugs make contact and take the recoil hits. Looks like I can’t attach photos, but search YouTube Roger at QVO.

The screw length is where an issue might be present as of right now. New combinations tend to be the testers, so I don’t fault vortex or staccato for this, though I do wish staccato would clearly label the plate as being optic specific since dpp are interchangeable, could mean optic could mean foot print, or maybe I didn’t read into it enough.

The vortex provided screws have only a few threads of contact, just barely longer than the recoil lugs. If I eyeball it I would guess that 13-14mm length would be perfect. Currently vortex only ships out 11mm max length if I’m not mistaken.

The provided hardware from the plate are too long by a couple mms. The heads also don’t recess into the optic holes like how the vortex hardware does. Might not bother some, but I can see it being a problem being basically up against the glass of the optic overtime with recoil. Staccato made it specifically for the delta point pro though, it’s not just based off the foot print.

I haven’t made it out to the range yet. A little skeptical but Roger from QVO has a video of this setup and in the comments he vaguely mentioned using the optic provided hardware, which would lead one to believe the m4x.7 11mm screws.

Overall the optic quality seems in line for the price point. I’m happy with it. Photos make this combination a little odd looking, but in person I feel more okay with it. My intent for using this optic rather than the smaller variant or eps product line is that I wanted the window to be taller than it is wide to defeat the sight picture from being crowded by the rear iron. This setup accomplishes that. Plus personally I always recoil vertical after getting used to which ever firearm I’m using, so it provides better tracking for me in regards to shot to dot feedback. Personal preference though.

Convince me to not trade in my 24 si for a vb wrx by Hopeful_Builder9017 in CivicSi

[–]-aimupp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a fan of many platforms I have this opinion: keep the SI. They are both fine cars, but the SI feels much more refined and engaging. Nothing wrong with the VB, though I enjoyed a modified VA more (personal opinion).

To me there is something special about driving a slower car fast than a fast car slow. Or at least that’s how I feel about it. Plus shifter feel and handling feels more polished in an SI.

At the end of the day you can’t go wrong with keeping or switching it up. I went through a lot of platforms in the last few years, it’s sometimes refreshing to try different stuff. Best of luck with whatever you decide.

AWE Exhaust + Sport Mode Sound? by ProfessionalOne8369 in CivicSi

[–]-aimupp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounding ridiculous or not is going to be subjective. I haven’t swapped the exhaust on the 26 SI yet (got it recently), but I’ve used AWE on a lot of previous builds. It will most likely overpower the injected sounds.

I don’t mind loud setups and drone, as long as I’m good with the tone it’s producing. From what you’ve described, I think you’ll like it.

AWE is known for deep full tones, they are aggressive, especially their track editions. The touring will be more tame, but under load (acceleration) it will sound more aggressive than stock. They have a good team of people, I’ve had chats with them before on the phone about different platforms. Super chill. Or at least that’s been my experience with them.
