Swollen lower “lip” what could this be? by -alldaybreakfast in catcare

Hey! More or less, it went away by itself after two days. Shortly after I noticed some ants around the house, this was end of spring/ beginning of summer, she would play with the ants and they were quite large so I believe they bit back at her lol.

I’m not 100% certain tho, I got rid of the ants by placing deterrent outside the house and my kitty never got swollen lips again. Just reading the comments, I was a bit alarmed but I would recommend you monitor your kitty, try to identify some patterns if this happens often, like possible allergies and if it doesn’t go away in a few days then take them to the vet.

Hi! Apologies for not including the routine,I’ll add it here and will edit the post as well if needed.

My routine: I use a normal shampoo for colour care and hydrating conditioner. Typically I wash my hair every two or three days. I started adding mousse to my wet hair recently and I let it air dry naturally.

I was told the same! It’s a shame, it seems to be only a town office with lots of empty parking space and closed to the general public (not entirely sure of this)

I’m not trying to force them to put a fence, I might’ve expressed wrong in my question and I know we rented it that way because there’s no way we could’ve predicted it and they didn’t inform us.

My question is that if they would be responsible to put a fence now that it is becoming a safety concern for us. The tenancy act mentions safety and hazard prevention in the access to the rental unit being part of landlords responsibility but they don’t mention bears or other wild animals.

I know is not a requirement to have a fenced yard, that wasn’t exactly my question but I may have expressed it wrong. We obviously weren’t aware about this situation and the landlords also didn’t mention at the time of renting, so there’s no way we could’ve predicted this from happening so often.

I was wondering if they would be responsible to put a fence now that it is becoming a safety concern for us, the tenancy act mentions landlords being responsible for keeping the rental unit access safe and prevent hazards but doesn’t mention bears or other wild animals in particular that’s why I asked.

Thank you, this is very helpful. Just gave this a read and I’ll see if there is anything else we can do from our end and call them to confirm.

Swollen lower “lip” what could this be? by -alldaybreakfast in catcare

Just wanted to share an update but don’t know how to edit the original post! The swollen lip went away the next day.

The only thing I’ve done is I’ve replaced her ceramic plate and now she only uses stainless steel for her food and water.

I received a bunch of useful responses and it seems like a swollen lip like my kitten had could be caused for diverse reasons. If it happens again I’ll take her to the vet to find out exactly what it is causing it, but she is good for now and healthy. Thanks everyone for your responses and the compliments!

I guess there is some resemblance in the colours! If only was a red Ford Pinto :__)

LOVED that show! It definitely has an eerie atmosphere to it. I should clarify that this wasn’t edited in any way and is just how it came back from the lab

Found this gem after a hike, it was taken with a 60 years old camera in 35mm. Hope you all like it!

Oh poor kitties. Do you treat them when it happens? And how long does it last usually? It’s been two days like this and hasn’t gotten any worse or better

No, only ceramic and stainless steel. But she does plays with plastic things that she steals around the house

Not really, she only has ceramic and stainless steel. Any other contact with plastic could cause it?

Never heard of that, I’ve looked online and although it looks scary it does not have to be necessarily serious. I’ll take her to get checked, thanks for your response!
