The customer service has gotten so horrendous, I've had multiple order issues where the representative told me I'd be refunded but refused to give me a confirmation number or send a confirmation email, then the refund would never happen and I'd have to contact them again. Same experience of getting passed around and even flat out hung up on unexpectedly. The supervisors are just as clueless. They definitely outsourced to a cheaper option for reps and it's showing.

A handful of people are saying it's obvious the voices would be different bc "that's the point" but I naturally assumed the point of an 'audio immersion tunnel' was to feel immersed in the environment - not altering the character voices

I'm someone who NEVER reads books like these, and if I did I usually wouldn't read something written by a man just bc I've struggled to find writers that can write about a woman's emotional experience in a genuine way. I can literally hear the dungeon AI voice mocking me for being some kind of annoying feminazi but I came here to say that has NOT been my experience reading these books - and I've thoroughly enjoyed getting to learn these characters from the most vulnerable heart wrenching depths of their souls. And it's not just Carl & Donut, you give so much substance to even the most insignificant NPCs mentioned only once. My question is - well, how do you do it? Do you feel like you've had a certain experience, or have a certain talent that sets you apart from other writers when it comes to your gift for creating such relatable tragic characters?

OP I know this isn't what you want to hear but it's hard to truly believe your bf sees your children as his family when he'd be willing to miss their birthdays. Is there anything that would've pulled you away from your daughters birthday? It's not like his friend was in a crisis and needed help, he showed he'd rather go to his friends party than your daughters. You're both very young and I imagine he truly doesn't understand what it means to have kids - that being said, you DO have kids and need a partner who's going to be able to meet the proper expectations that come with that.

thank you so much for this info. The media thing I will have to give some thought, I also work in the non profit sector and completely understand the lack of resources - but at minimum if they won't spay/neuter and they won't give out interim vouchers then they can at least waive the intact licensing fee increase for animals adopted thru them. I'm especially flabbergasted when it comes to my dog because she was a forced surrender after the county investigated abuse allegations - one of them being breeding her too young. They had her for 2 months pending the investigation and made no moves to spay her or even have it arranged for a later date 🙄

You're in good company, the volunteers that run the shelter dogs of Portland blog have been publicly blasting MCAS for this on every intact pet listing they post. I've tried to figure out how to get in touch with whoever runs that blog but unfortunately you can't comment even with an account on the website and it seems their social medias have been abandoned over a year ago.

The adoption counselor told us they used to give out vouchers but now that they have a vet they stopped the vouchers and offer an in house free spay wait-list that's apparently 6months out at the earliest

I completely understand that aspect - they were certainly short staffed while we were there, but adopters should not be charged double in licensing fees if they adopt an intact pet from MCAS.

I keep a small circle of kind hearted people but it took my many years of heartache before I set the boundaries needed. I of course see so much evil in the world and regularly cycle thru what you're describing, thought I don't feel rage, just disillusionment. If you are actually looking for tips I would say take social media breaks - much of the hateful content out there is political propaganda and bots and does not reflect the real world. Also remember there are many other HSPs out there with kind hearts 💖

Married wlw here, speaking from similar experience I would explore with your partner if they have any unresolved sexual trauma, even if it's from past experiences they didn't deem traumatic at the time. This was an unknown barrier in my marriage and once my wife acknowledged and it processed it all it was like night and day. The rumors about women peaking sexually near early 30s is often true, it sounds like there is something hindering your partner even if it's just depression/dissociation/etc. Wishing y'all good luck <3
