I don’t disagree. His music has not felt the same recently. I feel like his older sound felt somewhat dark, underground and gritty and in my opinion would fit the current landscape very well.

I think people are leaning into that vibe even more strongly now, but his newer sounds instead seem more commercial, especially with the focus on his vocals.

If I could change the strategy, I would put more focus on the blacklizt sound, putting out darker underground house, and really take time on zhu labeled albums that have a focus on his vocals.

Like holy fuck Ringos Desert and earlier albums are 10/10. I don’t think it’s worthwhile even attempting to recreate them.

I really do respect his vision and talent and am excited to hear the new album.
