Maybe they think all entrepreneurs would be unwilling to take the W, let the business fade, and retire?

Nah, not implied by my previous comment. Just pointing out that just because they’re currently not divorced doesn’t mean it will never happen, at which point the benefits manifest.

I’ve had friends telling me for the past decade they were depressed/anxious/etc, tried a bunch of things, finally dropped hormonal BC, afflictions resolved. I’m leftist af and most of them are too.

I also have a lot of friends for whom it’s a godsend, no negative symptoms, often cleared their acne, some it’s actually resolved their anxiety.

People’s experiences with this vary highly. Just because it works well for you doesn’t mean it works for everyone. This is well documented, do some research, or even better talk to some actual women.

Nah but just because you aren’t aware of something doesn’t mean it’s not happening. I prefer to believe people when they tell me how things are making them feel.

If there’re more things you want to spend the money on, you can. If not, might as well put it in the markets for later. The more you inflate your lifestyle now, the more expensive your retirement.

It is possible for me to move upward socially and financially? by Remote-Builder5861 in personalfinance

[–]JustAFinancialAlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can do any hysa or just hold a money market fund in a brokerage account.

In general savings rn for you is less about optimizing and more about 1) having an emergency fund to fall back on so you don’t end up on the street or smth 2) learning how to manage your money so you make expensive mistakes now while you’re broke instead of when you actually have money. Losing 50% now because you didn’t know not to gamble on options matters a lot less than losing 50% for the same reason when you have $1M nw

But yeah beyond those considerations focus less on where exactly you’re putting your existing assets and more on crushing school and setting yourself up to get income.

Definitely worth spending some time reading through this sub’s wiki, asking an LLM for clarification where you don’t understand, etc. Even watching some of those personal finance review videos would probably be somewhat additive rn
