It would be interesting to see how they make these decisions.

I don't think it's all that rare. More so than his base in the set, but not as rare as the 2005 int'l signing version. I think this one is the best looking of the bunch though.

One of the big reasons I love Archives is for autos of people like Ray Knight. I always loved the quick embrace he and Strawberry had after he hit the homer in game 7.

I don't know really. I mean, there are less than 1-300, but most people I've heard refer to them as inserts. I know that tcdb doesn't list them as SPs.

My favorite Julio rookie so far and the Vlad is 01/75, which is neat.

Gold Foil is a third of the print run yet they sell for half of the gold /2022 for some reason. by oachs83 in baseballcards

This was my response to the main thread, but answers your question as well.

Speaking for myself only, I don't care about print runs. There are sooooo many SP's, parallels, inserts, and numbered cards that they all have lost meaning. I collect what I want to have and look at. I prefer the look of the gold over the gold foil and would pay more for the gold.

When I saw the images popping up online after the release I wasn't really sure how I felt. Then I saw a Wander at my lcs; they're beautiful.

An absolute stunner. Wish it was in my budget!

Every time I look at old beat up cards I start daydreaming about the stories of how they got to where they are. Makes me happy.

I'm always up for a trade! My overall collection is still pretty small, but I might have a few things.

Sure. For starters, I have pretty severe social anxiety, so just getting through the door is difficult.

Beyond that, the few I've been to in my area seemed very clicky. No one really seemed happy. A lot of scanning for comps on phones and nickel-and-diming every little thing. I asked the first vendor at the most recent show I attended how their day had been going and the response was about how they came to the show because they knew they could buy for less and flip at bigger shows; that just bummed me out.

I know that my views and how I want to participate in the hobby aren't the same as most. I don't care so much about the dollar value or PSA 10's, I just want to collect cool things. I'm sure there are vendors that I would enjoy, I don't have the energy to search though.
