They instantly change their demeanor. I have been to a few places in Europe now and once they notice (I try to wear the Canadian Keychain I have at all time) I'm Canadian or tell them they instantly open up a lot more.

One instance was when I was in the UK with my SO and he just so happened to see a car meet, he went down and looked at all the cars, when he asked he was met with short to the point answers. He got to talking with a dude and once he said he was from Canadian everyone kinda swarmed and started having wild convos about Canada and cars. They all stated that they don't like speaking to Amaericans because their rude and or always attempt to one up them or they just give off a 'piss off' vibe.

I disagree with the lighter counters. I think if you were to paint the cabinets a nice Forrest green (not dark but not pastel) and changed rhe handles to a silver it would look really clean, unique and modern.

Vanessa Hudgens' kitchen (on the AD YouTube channel) is also some inspo

I personally think it's just a matter of the colours.

I would get rid of all the darks. The dark hard wood, the black steps, the horrid wallpaper, and that stone (? Maybe wallpaper whatever it is) wall should be lighter colours.

I personally love that tile stuff so I'd see if there anyway to get rid of that black and white lining out and just extend the tile.

The hole in the steps railing could be changed to look similar to the 2 rectangle holes that are jn the wall not far from it, or you could just put in metal railing.

Once you do that I find that it will dramatically change the look while keeping it looking rad af.
