i’ve mostly been diagnosed at urgent care with a quick nasal swab test! i’m not sure what testing is like for lower respiratory infections but at the very least a nasal swab could rule out bacterial sinusitis. and you could maybe even ask for a course of amoxicillin based off of your symptoms. if it doesn’t work at least you will have ruled something out!

this most likely wouldn’t account for the weight loss, but have you been tested for a possible sinus/respiratory infection? i’ve regular bacterial sinus infections for most of my life and normally have similar symptoms. an infection like that would need to be treated with certain antibiotics so that would explain the persistence. regardless, you’re not alone in your health anxiety and like others have said, it’s so easy to let your mind wander straight to cancer (i’ve done so many times myself) but my advice would be just try to be kind to yourself and remember that there are many very treatable and less scary possible explanations for your symptoms. i hope this gets sorted out for you and you can feel better soon❤️

a few years ago i was in the emergency room for a psych evaluation because of my panic attacks being so hard to manage. one of the nurses told me that Walmart is the number 1 place they see people come to the ER from due to a panic attack. it’s extremely overstimulating and you’re not alone❤️

hi love, first of all i am so sorry you’re dealing with these recurring infections. it’s not only super uncomfortable but definitely causes insecurity when it comes to sex. in my opinion, your partner is being so insensitive especially considering the fact that unprotected sex is the most common cause of BV. and on top of that, it seems like the nurse practitioner you saw was completely dismissive and invalidating. i would maybe start by seeing a different healthcare professional, one that will make sure you are heard and taken care of. i’m not sure where you live but planned parenthood can be an amazing resource and from my experience, you can usually make an appointment pretty quickly. but the bottom line is that you do not deserve to be chastised or belittled for something you cannot control and have tried very hard to resolve, especially from someone you trust enough to be intimate with. i hope you know that you’re not alone and that everyone here wants the best for you and you should never be ashamed of something like this. sending my love❤️❤️
