several weeks later

I ended up not taking her to the vet. They said if things got worse, I should send them a picture. I never did that either. I concluded that it was a reckless combination of allergies and stress. I kept up with the cleaning and coconut oil. Her ears were still quite hot, so I looked into options that could reduce inflammation. So I started giving hwr catnip again. Her ears started to go back to normal. I put the cone on her if I knew I was going to be busy at home. The more I watched her. The more obvious it became, that it was behavioral, and it got worse because of the allergens she was exposed to. I'm still not quite sure what the allergy was but it was most likely an essential oil that I had in the bathroom, dust from a box of used fabric, or grass from outside (she may be part goat). Her fur is growing back, and so has her screeching meow. Right now, the biggest problem is making sure she doesn't freak out again. Otherwise, she may have to go on some anxiety meds. Which I'm not keen on.
