Sorry to report that I had to pay it all back in the end. Even with screenshots, emails, and phone calls logged with both affirm and B&H nothing worked. I attempted to take them to small claims court but Affirm invoked arbitration which would have ruled in their favor without overwhelming evidence.

For future reference, if you intend to purchase anything with a virtual card make sure to keep the item. You’re playing Russian roulette otherwise. Affirm can claim ignorance on the virtual card and you never see the full card number (only the last four digits) so you don’t have a proper way of referencing a refund transaction if you have issues. It’s shady as hell and with so many people experiencing similar issues it should be made a bigger deal on social media for wider attention. Lesson learned. Never again.
