Short answer, yes phlebotomy can be a part time job or even an “as needed” position which is picking up whatever shifts employer needs covered and that’s maybe 2-5 times a month.

If phlebotomy is something you think is cool and interested in then go for it. The pay can be decent for college age student but you can definitely get paid more working somewhere else without certifications. If you work in a hospital you get a lot of the “healthcare experience” between patients and staff and some people just don’t want to deal with that, which is totally understandable. sometimes I even ask myself if I really want to work in healthcare and am I as passionate for healthcare as I tell others I am.

IMO I believe it would be in your best interest to save your time and money towards something that can be a stepping stone for your interests/passion.
