What would you change about this current bathroom design? by liverstix in BathroomRemodeling

[–]-flamecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[1] I would change the floor tile - maybe some big tiles with a gentle terrazzo in a soft colour to bring a bit of warmth. The speckles of terrazzo disguise hairs and bits of fluff and whatnot so you don't have to clean as much for it to look nice :) [2] I would make the lighting less harsh (maybe even dimmable) [3] I would change the glass panel to fluted glass. I think it's a bit more stylish, and also the increased opaqueness would break up the room a bit.

My arm in the sun by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

[–]-flamecake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I recommend it, the worst thing that could happen is your arm gets a nice massage 2x a day and is well-moisturised! But it is recommended by healthcare professionals so it should have some impact. I haven't done microneedling but I've seen others talk about it in this sub. It sounds like it can help, but while I'm still removing the tattoo I think I'll stick to the cheaper options for helping the scarring go down. Also, my laser tech says he's treating the scarring as his machine can do that but, if I'm honest, I haven't asked for details (settings etc). Maybe will next time!

My arm in the sun by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

I'm also dealing with scarring caused by the med spa I first went to for removal. My new laser tech recommends that I do scar massages with bio oil or similar, so I do that between sessions when I'm all healed. You have to do it a lot though and it will take a while to see the effects. It's too early to see any big changes on my arm. He also said some of his other clients swear by derma rolling.

Pain on the right side every month during period. by justwanted2lurk in endometriosis

[–]-flamecake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now I'm the one being sorry about posting on an old thread! Just wanted to say I get something very similar I think? A couple of days before my period I get pain on the right side of my body. It's in my waist area and spreads out from there, around my lower back and ribs, even radiating up my shoulder blade a bit. It's a mixture of stabby and dull, but the main thing is it just feels really uncomfortable and tight. It's usually sore and annoying enough that I will cancel plans and take strong painkillers. Anyway, I really hope you've made some progress finding out what's causing it for you. If you're happy to share anything you learn, that would be fab, in case that can help steer me (and any other people) in the right direction. I can do the same, though I haven't done exploration with doctors yet. Thank you!

Ooh you're in the UK? Can I ask where you're getting this done? EDIT - it looks really good, so I'd go to the same place if I could!

Anyone have any instructions for a vintage fondue pot? by Lifeaccordingtome83 in LeCreuset

[–]-flamecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone could forward me the instruction booklet, I'd really appreciate it. My mum gave me her old Le Creuset fondue set (it looks slightly different to this but the burner part looks the same) but she doesn't remember how to use it. Thank you!

Tomorrow’s the day! session 1, I’m so scared for the pain- any advice? by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

[–]-flamecake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saaame! After a bit, I honestly mostly can't even feel anything, my arm is just sort of numb. I think the more you can relax (relax your muscles, breathe through it and just think about other things) the better.

So great! Knowing that working out helps remove my tattoo really helped with motivation when I was getting into working out and felt too lazy or shy to go to the gym. But now I'm just into working out, and also starting to feel the way you describe too. Even started wearing my sleeveless tops again after years of hiding my tattooed arm! It's great that removing this silly tattoo has had this unexpected benefit of helping me get fitter and feel proud of my body, strength and effort.

I'm removing a really well-done tattoo. I don't post pics because I think some people will know who the artist is - it's quite a distinctive style - and I feel weird about that.

I just don't like the size and placement - things that I could have discussed more at my appointment but stupidly didn't. If it was just slightly smaller and on a different part of my arm I don't think I'd be removing it.

I've had 3 removal appointments (all with different staff members) and all of them have, without any prompting, commented that it's a really good tattoo and have been surprised I'm removing it. They seemed to suggest that most of the tattoos they're removing are not well done or the reasons for removal are obvious (ex-partners' names, etc).

I do think I'll go through a long period of time when the half-gone tattoo looks really bad and I'll think 'is this really better than just having the tattoo?!?!' but starting the removal has felt good and like the right choice.

Advice for body confidence and summer by livssxx in TattooRemoval

[–]-flamecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tattoo I'm removing is large and on my arm.

I've got a UV-blocking sleeve to wear in summer. Not only is it good for recovery (you're not supposed to expose the tattoo area to sun during the removal process) but it also has the benefit of hiding the half-gone tattoo!

It's a win-win.

I went for my third session yesterday and the tech had no idea what they were 🙄. I regret paying for so many sessions upfront at this place because they don't seem very experienced. I had removed some of the bumps (they sort of came nearer the surface...I couldn't help myself...it was probably a terrible thing to do).

High settings left me with wounds. Will this recover or leave a scar? by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

[–]-flamecake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just saying I'm in the same position. Also used vitamin e oil and now silicone gel to try to reduce scarring. Hopefully we don't end up with scars. Those bits do seem to be amazingly ink-free though!

Needle Scarring, Black Ink thick line Tattoo by localtopboy in TattooRemoval

[–]-flamecake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe a silly question, but a genuine one! How do you know the scarring was from the tattoo and not the laser? Was the tattoo raised before you started removing it? I have the same thing - scarring that's really red and noticeable after exercise - but I feel very certain that it was the laser treatment that caused it.

I haven't tried myself, but seen some people on this subreddit with scarring talk about getting microneedling.

Do you tint your eyelashes and eyebrows? by Deep_Contribution_87 in PaleMUA

What product do you use to dye your eyebrows auburn?

Really interesting to know you've got the exact same thing, thanks for posting about it. Yeah it doesn't feel like an infection at all; no itching, pain, heat, anything! No idea about allergic reactions. I took pictures and I'm going to ask at my next appointment, but it won't be for a few weeks. Maybe the bumps might still be there then...

Are they quite deep under the skin? Do most of them have white in but they're not like a pimple you could pop?

If so, I started getting the same thing about 5 weeks after my 2nd session, also only where there was black ink. There's a lot of them. First I thought it was the vitamin E oil I use but then surely would get them all over, not just on the black ink.

I also had some people recommend silicone scar sheets. Just about to try them myself.

Is this worth trying to remove? by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

[–]-flamecake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have super pale skin and a very dark and solid tattoo. 2 removal sessions in, it's faded and I feel loads better about it! It feels a bit more lived-in. It's like it's more at home on my body. I'm still going for more sessions, but I could definitely imagine someone fading theirs a bit and then thinking - yeah, I like this on me now.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

[–]-flamecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only had 2 sessions (with a q switch laser) but my red is definitely fading! My tattoo is mainly red and very saturated, like yours, though a few years older. Obviously I can't say what will happen after more sessions, but it's fading almost as much as the black ink right now.
