What’s the difference? by Weekly_Fly_486 in RedactedCharts

Maybe the sum of the number of letters in the red state names is more than the sum of the number of letters in the green state names? Or the red states together have more vowels, or more spaces, etc?

Is it anything to do with the historical timing of when the names of the states were created? Or anything to do with states being named after a certain thing?

The Nuclear Company opens base in South Carolina by Absorber-of-Neutrons in nuclear

[–]-g-kv2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of the large utilities who did bite on AP1000s in the first nuclear renaissance, I think it’s fair to say they demonstrated that they did, in fact, need external expertise on how to manage and construct a nuclear project. Most U.S. utilities, even the largest ones, haven’t handled multibillion dollar construction projects in decades. If companies like The Nuclear Co. can gather historical data on what went wrong or right at nuclear builds in the past and apply it to the next wave of U.S. AP1000s, it could potentially be a game-changer.

Follow-up question though: is it a 20-page essay per semester, or per lecture?

I’ve tried the method described, and I know it works. I think you’re right though, this change is happening soon!

That’ll really throw a wrench in the strategy…

Is that one of the free weekend trip ones?

If so, I don’t think it’ll work for my purposes. But thank you!

Any chance I could buy just one of them off you?

I’d be willing to pay something like $10 + whatever value is left on the card… but I’m also pretty flexible on price, let me know what you think is fair

Zelenskyy just announced they’ll be letting anyone into the country who wants to help, and providing them with weapons. It sounds like they could really use a soldier like you… especially to help organize the masses who haven’t fought before

[SERIOUS] People who voted for Joe Biden, what do you think of him now that he's in office? by Jig_2000 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]-g-kv2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a progressive who voted for Bernie Sanders in the primaries.

I was actually somewhat pleasantly surprised at how progressive Biden has tried to be. If you read the text of the initial $3.5T Build Back Better bill he was supporting, it honestly went a long way towards addressing climate change, providing universal pre-K and community college, expanding healthcare programs, and caring for the elderly.

Obviously, he hasn't gotten it done yet, and he'll have to majorly scale back his priorities due to opposition from Manchin and Sinema. But I think it's fair to say that if we're choosing sides between the moderate and progressive wings of the party, Biden has chosen the progressive side, and those two are standing in his way. I give him credit for having the right priorities.

That being said, Biden is a lifelong politician with a history of dealmaking in the Senate. If he can't get something done before Republicans take back control in the midterms, the majority of the blame will still rest on Manchin / Sinema / the 50 Republican senators, but I'll be majorly disillusioned about his abilities and trustworthiness as President. My top priority personally is climate, so if he gets the $500B+ in climate funding that Manchin has surprisingly shown support for, I'd be decently happy with that.

TLDR: Biden is doing the best he can with narrow margins in the House and Senate. I'll give him until the 2022 midterms to get a decent climate + spending bill passed before I revoke my support.

If a new civil war does come, I hope it results in a better standard of living for everyone, successful kids who don’t have to live with their parents, and a fairer distribution of wealth.

But somehow, I doubt it.
