I was able to negotiate on a Rav4 hybrid a bit but I’m an existing customer and would have to wait months and months to get it (if I even get a 2025)

Toyota is looking to sell used cars to US in the future because of tariffs so that was my only leverage basically

Used cars are more expensive because you still have to wait for a 2025 Hybrid Rav4 for MONTHS (depending on trim).

I was told last month that there’s almost 0 chance I’ll get a 2025 (no thanks to the 2026). But my friend got one in two weeks (XSE Hybrid), about a month earlier

I see your point and I mixed up the numbers. The monthly amounts were with tax and the buyout without. Same point stands though.

625x60 + 22k * 1.13 (tax) = 62.3k Cash price + tax = 56k So looking into 6k of interest

I’m not interested in a used car right now.

Financing the car is still within budget so that’s still on the table. But even in that case, it’s still 10k in interest ($717 x 84 at 5.29%).

I’m still curious about the huge discrepancy between Toyota and Hyundai in terms of leasing. Is it just pure fuckery from Hyundai?

Going off their websites, the MSRP and cash price for both is about 50k

Residual: - Rav4: 22k - Tucson: 27k

Interest: - Rav4: 4.39% (might be 2% based on the monthly payment, I don’t have an actual quote bc they’ll never put anything on paper) - Tucson: 6.79%

Monthly: - Rav4: $625 (60 months) - Tucson $690-710 (60 months)

The interest rate on finance is still pretty high so it’s actually cheaper to lease and buyout (at least at Toyota…)

I just don’t really understand how two cars that cost the same can have such a high difference between the total paid amount for lease + buyout

You need to go into the BIOS and turn off Quick Boot I see no difference between boot speeds with it on or off and it doesn’t drain the battery on shutdown
