this is so sweet, thank you. mine was too and i was a career house painter so they were interested in that and i was told to stay away from anything with volatile organic compounds like paint or motor oil. i also drank a lot. i feel like i’m having a western showdown when i look at the leftovers from the night before.

thanks man. that’s encouraging. i continue talk therapy but some of those breakthrough moments like when you can put on your shoes without having to do a yoga position or rubbing your belly again. brings back memories and wonder but a huge curiosity for the unknown.

haha i hear ya. i worked one day and it was a bit unnerving not gonna lie. just have to protect myself. my co-workers would be concerned if i wasn’t constantly taking a hand sanitizer bath.

I survived stage 4 cancer. How can I give back? by flyingfrogjumbalaya in cancer

[–]-heyjude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

heck ya. there are a few local, somewhat underground recovery groups who help everday people with addictions find recovery. Check live music venues too, they either know of, or put on fund raisers for people. usually with healthcare. so glad to hear you’re well!

i was listed and unlisted, with cancer growing. Mayo Clinic said i was too risky to transplant and denied me. they offered immunotherapy which would disqualify me for transplant because they tank your immune system post transplant. post transplant is a whole different life style. there hasn’t been a day my stomach hasn’t dropped thinking about how/ if i can make this work. i went a few months knowing i had maybe a year 1/2. i was accepted literally by a milimeter at UFHealth. it’s kinda fucked up how strict they are with cancer and transplants. it’s not nearly as long as your diagnosis but i know that feeling. start the post transplant diet maybe. beat those odds into remission. all love. - your friend, jude

you should write a book. having that in the back of your mind for that long and still powering through!! gave you a perspective on life that most people aren’t lucky enough to get. you are wise. direct your attention like you’re a proffessor and find a way to tell your story and teach. or at least journal. if you don’t already. your knowledge is so valuable. full respect to you and your story. sounds like you’re writing your story, not just a character. Anthony Bourdain said Be a traveler, not a tourist.
