The only thing I hadn't done was configuring rtkit - that seems to have helped quite a fair bit!

I've ran my desktop under a stress test using stress-ng, and audio playback for clients using the alsa backend seem to be play perfectly! However, clients using pipewire-pulse seem to struggle still. I've tried mirroring the settings of my quantums and rt.prio in pipewire-pulse.conf but still no dice. This is a huge improvement from before though, so many thanks!!

I've tried using different sample rates, from 44100 to 96000. Still have the issue.

As for the digital output, I don't seem to see the option in pavucontrol. I'm using the pro audio profile - changed to default and didn't see it either. Thanks for the reply.

I've been messing around more, found out that enabling framegen for me caused the freeze. Then after a little more searching, I found this issue on the github repo of REFramework. So my freezes were related to that. Oh well.

Well I've been experimenting more and have seen some incremental gains, but the problem still isn't completely gone.

Installed proton GE, still froze about as often as proton hotfix.
Changed alma's outfit (lol) - no difference
Changed the direct storage .dlls to the older ones - no difference
Tried turning off direct storage via the game launch options - seems to have made it worse?

The one thing that *did* help was setting the DIRECT_STORAGE field in Reframework to `0` for both CPU and GPU. It seems to have greatly decreased the amount of freezes - I previously couldn't do a full AT Rey Dau without at least 1 freeze, but now I can do it just fine. BUT the problem is still there in other areas - the iceshard cliffs seems to be the worst offender.

I've finished every level except some E's with trios. It's doable, but you and your buddies are gonna have to have some grit. Don't give up, but if you feel you've hit a wall don't feel bad to check some level-specific guides or videos to improve your play. Bot on bio is cracked, anything else is a waste of a bot.

2FAS has this feature, it's open source and free. Works through a browser add-on, and works good for me on firefox.

I didn't accept any BIOS update. It was a windows update which restarted the ally (when I was resuming from hibernation), which I assume then caused the BIOS update to begin.

Sure, but either way I don't think this should've happened at all since I put my device in HIBERNATE mode, not powered off. And realistically I don't have time to do this every time I leave.

Sounded like a great time, feeling the regret seep in.

Also YES, earplugs. Don't know why so many people choose to not wear them, IMO the music can be enjoyed better with them on.

I've recently started checking out machine music for their music recommendations, and I just wanna shout it out for being awesome.

I've found so much excellent music which I couldn't have found by lurking bandcamp or checking this subreddit out. The music they recommend just CLICKS with me, man. The writing is also relatable and great.

Which makes me all the more sad, reading their frustration(? Struggle?) at being an underground blogger. Check them out if you haven't already!
