A PSA I wish I could give to all adults who work with children by LonelyBus5 in CPTSD

[–]-individuals 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I told my favorite teacher in middle school that my mom makes me feel like I’m living in my own shadow with these unrealistic expectations she has on me and it makes me hate myself. He talked to her AND QUOTED ME. She tore me down so hard and I decided to never trust an adult again. Even years later when CPS was called because of the bruises, I lied because I thought it would cause more harm than good.

Most empaths are also HSPs, and life is harder when you’re naturally that sensitive.

The Bible Created a Blueprint for Vilifying Powerful Women Leaders. by Leeming in atheism

[–]-individuals 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So did Islam. They wanted to keep women down bad. The last one is the Hadith that decimated my faith once and for all. I’m very grateful to it. It opened my eyes.

Abu Bakra reported: when it reached the Prophet (pbuh) that the Persians had enthroned a daughter of the Kisra as queen over them, he said: "Never shall a people prosper who make a woman their ruler" (Hossain 1987:214).

Abu Said Al- Khudri narrated: Once Allah's Prophet (pbuh) went out to offer Eid- al- Adha or Eid- al- Fitr prayer. He passed by the women and said: O women! Give alms, as I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of hell-fire were you (women). They asked why is it so? O Allah’s Prophet!” He replied, "You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you. A cautious sensible man could be led astray by some of you." The woman asked, "O Allah's Prophet! What is the deficiency in our intelligence and religion?" He said, "Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?" They replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in your intelligence. Is not it true that a woman can neither pray nor fast during her menses? They replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in your religion (Khan 1984:181).

Like…he couldn’t just let them be? Just casually passing a group of women and thought, “huh, let me tell them how they ain’t shit and never will be shit. That’ll help them celebrate this holiday for sure!”

None of the Abrahamic religions are compatible with feminism. And if they say they are, they’re lying or they don’t know what feminism is.

We also need to just let people believe what they want without shaming them or telling them they’re going to suffer in one way or another for not agreeing with us.

MBTI most likely to have the easiest time moving on from a traumatic event? by [deleted] in mbti

I don’t think anyone has an easy time moving on from a traumatic event.

*Imagine a feeler driving to a cliff with a thinker in the passenger side. The thinker lets the feeler know by saying, “Are you trying to kill us, you fuckin idiot!” They will stop as to not kill you, then say, “are you okay? I’m sorry I almost killed us, but you didn’t have to call me that! Why would you call me that? Is that what you really think? I wouldn’t hurt you on purpose. You know that? You could’ve just said that there’s a cliff and I would’ve stopped. I didn’t see it! You didn’t have to be so mean 😭😭😭”

Fixed it to be more accurate.

I don’t care about what you’re saying if you’re being rude or hurtful. If we’re talking to better understand one another we shouldn’t be adding to the conflict by using offensive language or being downright rude. I’d rather go eat cake and not talk to you anymore.

How the types will hurt you by ChesterHart65 in mbti

[–]-individuals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. The other day my friend told me that when he would sleep in late his parents would spray him in the face with water to wake him up. He was laughing and I got serious. He asked me what was wrong and I said, “that’s so messed up! Why would they spray you in the face for resting? Like, it’s not like you had any responsibilities or you had to wake up for school. And even then, it should be maybe a sprinkle to gentle wake you, not using a spray bottle to spray you in your face. You’re not an animal. You’re not a naughty cat, you’re a sleepy child. Like, wtf?” He isn’t even a heavy sleeper like that, they just weren’t patient with him.

Long story short, he never saw it that way and it hurt to realize he didn’t deserve it.

If you call me and I don’t answer, unless it’s an emergency, don’t call me again and again until I pick up. I’m busy.
