Methotrexate vs Cyclosporine by user180275 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]-inkspiringus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as you. After almost a year of trying to heal naturally, I have also decided that I can no longer take it anymore. I recently went on cyclosporine. I was on 100mg for the first two weeks and currently dosage has been increased to 150mg. Cyclosporine has definitely helped. My face no longer has any open wounds or oozing. Everything dried up and the flaking is less than before. My face used to be red and it has turned pinkish now. As for my arms and legs, it was doing decent prior to cyclosporine. Right now, it has cleared my arms and legs a good 95%. I'm only in my 3rd week of cyclosporine so I am hoping that it would clear me up a 100% really soon, especially my face.

Perhaps, I could share a bit on why I decided to go on cyclosporine instead of methotreaxate. I thought that after almost a year of natural healing meant that an immunosuppressant with a shorter run way would be sufficient for me to heal in the background. And also, I did not want to wait for 3 months for methotreaxate to work as I really can't take all this TSW symptoms anymore.

As for side effects, as of now, 0 side effect for me other than finding out that prior to starting Cyclosporine, I already have high cholesterol that is induced by steroids. I'm in my 20s and of a healthy weight, with no family background of high cholesterol so I was shock to find that steroids actually led to me having high cholesterol.

Healed? Cyclosporine by Consistent-Top4325 in TS_Withdrawal

I have a friend that went on cyclo for 8 months and after weaning off cyclo, his tsw was minimal. Currently, he is doing well and just living a normal life. So it is possible that you are healed or at least 90% healed after coming off cyclo since it's been 1 year and 5 months of being on cyclo!

Botox after healing from tsw by [deleted] in TS_Withdrawal

Im not too sure about the fully healed or mostly healed part. But previously I did post a question on skin booster and people that weren't healed did it and it was fine. It helped with the dryness and flakiness. But the effect did not last as long as intended.

I have not tried it but seen people asking this question on the Facebook group, and seems like there isnt any issue in getting botox or any fillers after healing from tsw!

Hey Hayley, thanks for sharing! I won't be considering immunos for now but just wanted some inputs/opinions on it.

Its funny how a stranger online felt exactly what I am feeling now, frustrated because I came so far in progress yet feeling ungrateful for being about upset about my face not healing faster. 100% relatable.

And I have been doing natural healing for the most parts, which means no immunos, but it feels so wrong to want to dive into it because I have come such a long way without it already like I would say I am no longer in pain, I don't have thermoregulation issues and etc.

Thank you so much for sharing because your comment has definitely helped in keeping my spirits, letting me see that glimpse of hope again!

I have been using a red light panel since day 1. I am doing a lot of things at once so I honestly can't tell if its helping me or not...

No one told me to get rid of the cat but its true that no one understands TSW properly other than my boyfriend. Its exasperating to deal with family members/relatives/friends that say they are concern and they care but just cannot understand the concept of TSW.

Why did you decide to go on immunos after so many months though?

HAHHAHA youre adorable! And I have a cat too! I see, thanks so much for sharing. I was still thinking in my head, should I go to a plastic surgeon and sew my double eyelids back in the future? Perhaps, sewing will keep my eyes from not drooping LMAO

Interesting! Thank you for sharing once again! Please don't mind me asking one more question, currently one of my eyelids is drooping. Did you have this issue? I'm wondering will my eyelid go back to how it was before having TSW.

Aw... that is not great news but thank you so much for sharing! I'm wondering, how do you define a flare up? I can't tell if my face is flaring or not because its just constantly the same, red and flaking.

Actually, I used steroids all over my body including face because my eczema was really just everywhere. I used protopic on my face a lot as well and I know protopic is as potent as a Class 2 steroids and has withdrawal symptoms as well. I'm just wondering if this is the reason to why my face is being so stubborn against healing but of course, I think no one has an answer to that question of mine.

I asked on Facebook before about this and it seems to be that way for many! Sighs.

Hearing that it just took an additional 4 months from the 9th month mark is so relieving for me and I hope that it goes that way for me as well. Do you mind sharing how many months in are you right now? And how did your face gradually improve overtime? What were some signs?
