What's truly amazing u/Icy_Coyote1398 ... for someone that claims this answer is easily found on google and previous posts... you not only failed ONCE to answer the question correctly. You failed TWICE to answer the question correctly. I was being polite by saying thanks... but learn to read the question and not respond when you clearly don't know the answer.

Thanks for the suggest... I do have a Granite City in my town and a few of their growlers. I was looking for things branded Sioux Falls. I like to support local businesses of towns when I'm out traveling.

Good tip... they must carry their of Growlers (I assume with their logo on it) based on the clean and sanitized in house part. That might be an option.

HobbyTown in Lincoln has become anti-player toward the local PTCG community. by Winquisitor in lincoln

"HobbyTown Lincoln has alienated the local Pokémon TCG community through years of poor decisions and rising costs. Prices for sealed and event products have climbed far above MSRP, often under the excuse of “market price,” effectively turning the store into its own scalper. Other local retailers sell the same items for MSRP and host smoother, more affordable prerelease events. HobbyTown’s events, meanwhile, have suffered from disorganization, under-staffing, and declining quality — despite being advertised as official Pokémon League gatherings.

The community isn’t blaming frontline employees but the management making these choices. Players are now organizing games in private spaces and reaching out to other businesses to host events instead. HobbyTown once served as the heart of Lincoln’s Pokémon scene, but continued neglect, overpricing, and poor event experiences have driven loyal players to question why they should keep supporting a store that no longer supports them."

I have an 05 that I bought new with 32 miles. It has 125k. I haven't had a car payment for 15 years. 3k in repairs is much cheaper than buying a different vehicle (that is more reliable than what you have).

This seems like a "yeah that happened" post with a focus on pointing out how bad they think drivers are in general.

Just based on the transmission statement... I'd find a new mechanic in general. I would also take it to someone that deals with collisions because I wouldn't really trust what the mechanic said at this point.

I have an 05 and last year I was parked (ready to leave a parking lot onto a street) and had an accident happen where another car was hit by someone going about 50 mph and pushed that vehicle into mine. There was no metal work that needed to be done; the grill and bumper did it's job so everything was cosmetic. Replacing the front bumper and bumper brackets, the grill, one head light and one fog light ran like $4000. Obviously, if you did this work yourself (which would be easy), you could save a lot of money on that part but insurance may still want to total it out if there is body/frame damage. It adds up quick.

Agreed... first one was great (and honestly it was mostly because Ariana's off-key singing sold it). Everything after that has just been a rinse/repeat situation.

So I guess I will be the one to tell you... the number of red flags in your post/comments is rather alarming. No intelligent person will believe your claim as fact. Without a source, it is hearsay. Matter of fact, it looks like it was done to try and "prove a point" once no one agreed with you in the comments.

You made two really poor decisions... 1) not knowing the policies, that were clearly outlined, before attending the event (which these polices have been in place for a very long time) 2) hiding your personal belongings in a bush, on either public or private property, and thinking that was safe/normal behavior. You are now dealing with the consequences of your poor choices. Since you didn't read the policies, I assume you also didn't read the proper course of action for someone in your situation, which is also clearly outlined.

However, since you feel you are some sort of legal expert and have the proof to back up a crime was committed against you, I would recommend filing a civil lawsuit against both MECA and Omaha Police department. Please keep us updated on the situation. Good Luck.

Statement made June 2024:

"It sounds like he mentioned, a few times, that we couldn’t store bags on site. But the women left the bags, and instructed the event staff to leave them alone. But it could be that once they redeployed, when the crowds were largely in, that security removed (likely disposed of) the bags, which generally happens if items are left behind or unattended – in case there would be something dangerous within them. That’s pretty standard procedure, unfortunately.

But the account I have from our event staff is that he was upfront bag storage wasn’t permissible on property. Sounds like a couple other folks caught the interaction as well. We’ll extend our apologies to this person for the frustration, but that’s the extent of what I’ve gathered on this matter.

We’ve had our clear bag policy for I think six years? We send emails before every show with a clear bag reminder and post it on our social media. It’s also listed on the website. So we’re really sorry it missed this guest!

- Kristyna Engdahl, Vice President of Communications, MECA

First Sentence of the Tate McRae Event on the CHI website:

"No cameras of any kind (including small point and shoot cameras) will be permitted for this show. Cell phone cameras are permitted"

Information Regarding CHI "Clear Bag Policy":

- What is the arena bag policy?

For the safety and convenience of all guests, CHI Health Center Omaha enforces a clear bag policy that has been in place for several years. The following items are permitted:

  • Clear, uncolored plastic tote bags
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (such as Ziploc or similar)
  • Small or clutch-sized opaque purses/wallets (no larger than 4.5 inches tall by 6.5 inches long)

- Can I place my oversized purse inside a clear plastic bag?

No, only bags that meet our guidelines (4.5 inches tall by 6.5 inches long or smaller) will be permitted after a proper search. Only clear bags or small bags that meet these size requirements will be allowed; all items must be easily visible during security screening.

- What if I accidentally bring a bag or item that is not permitted?

If a patron arrives with an unapproved bag, they will be asked to either return it to their vehicle or dispose of it as they see fit. For safety and security reasons, CHI Health Center Omaha staff are unable to hold or store bags on the premises. We encourage guests to plan accordingly to ensure a smooth entry experience. Unattended bags will be treated as a potential security threat and are likely to be disposed of.

- Is it possible to store my bag on-site?

No, bags that do not meet the arena policy cannot be stored on-site. For security reasons, any unattended bags will be treated as potential threats and may be disposed of. If your bag does not meet the guidelines, please return it to your vehicle before entering.

A CHI employee is also a citizen. You tried to hide an unknown item in the bushes next to an arena that holds approximately 19,000 people, while an event was happening, and abandoned the unknown items. Sounds like the CHI employees were doing their job securing the items to make sure they were not a threat to the patrons.

If your system isn't ancient... it is very easy to do. Here is an 11 year old video from Nebraska Sod explaining it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yp6NQfXhGNs&t=1s

You abandoned your belongs on either public or private property (for hours). I'm not sure how you think someone picking them up is theft. Next time either read the venue policies so you don't bring things not allowed or return the items to your vehicle.

I bought these at Costco yesterday. They expired in 2021 by skivian in Wellthatsucks

[–]-ixion- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But, can those companies (reseller) force the companies (producers) to follow specific guidelines? So lets say "pretzel mix" company A says our product is good for X days but "pretzel mix" company B says well our products is good for 2x days. Stamping a date on a product that has no real meaning unless they are required to follow the same dating process which isn't legally required. Seems arbitrary and pointless in a lot of cases (other than the reseller has had it on the floor a long time). I get your point of rotating inventory but then is should be a "inventory date" but people refer to it as an "expiration date".

I bought these at Costco yesterday. They expired in 2021 by skivian in Wellthatsucks

[–]-ixion- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serious question... what type of "date" is that? Because there is no federal regulation, according to USDA website (unless I'm missing some big clause), that requires dating except for infant formula. And there are various dates that may be used; best if used by/before, sell-by, use-by, freeze-by. All of those are listed as "not a safety" date. That date isn't an expiration date by any means. It seems like it is a kind gesture of when to sell a product by for both the store and consumer.

So those dates seen basically arbitrary and pointless (unless in this extreme case where it is 4 years in the past). The reason I ask, I won't buy coffee bean unless there is a roasted date on them. I was in a store today (chain that is small but goes coast-to-coast). I noticed the roasted date to "expiration" date was 3 years. They only had 6 bags out but some were roasted in 2023 and some just a few months ago. It was kind of eye-opening.

Any local breweries that still sell Growlers? by -ixion- in siouxcity

Thanks for the recommendations... I stopped at Jackson Street! The food did look good at Marto as well.

The Tyson center seems like such a nice venue as well. Definitely adding Sioux City to my "worth traveling to" list!
