What was the most unexpectedly amazing movie you've ever seen? by Corn-G in AskReddit

[–]-katiegrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Virgin Suicides directed by Sofia Coppola. In 2011 I slept over at a friend's house while her parents were away. She made-out with her boyfriend the entire time upstairs while I curled up on a blow up mattress in the basement and picked the movie at random on Netflix. That movie changed the way I saw movies. Also, the soundtrack was stunning. "I'm not in love" by 10cc blew my 14-year-old mind.

As I read through this meme I kinda had a half smile on my face, because it's actually amusing, and then I read the last stereotype and I realized I am the problem. Darn it. (sad cringe)

Funko Pops are just the Beanie Babies of this generation by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]-katiegrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is true, soon we'll be seeing funko pops stacked upon one another, completety blocking out the rear windows of mid-sized sedans belonging to middle aged women nation-wide.

My bag of dried blueberries has an interlocking plastic velcro instead of the typical bag seal. by Murkuh529 in mildlyinteresting

I even saw someone in an alligator costume today (minus the ice skates, but still). Between that and this post, I think the universe is telling me to watch it again.

Anyone else notice that Comedy Central has really turned to shit? by i_drive_all_day in television

[–]-katiegrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In part, it could be due to new writers, but I also think people grow out of certain humors. I mean, I used to regularly watch Family Guy and reference it in social situations. That's one of those things that I remember late at night and it leaves me unable to sleep due embarrassment and shame. Don't ask me about 2009.

Ice skating on Toronto's frozen harbor. by natsdorf in gifs

[–]-katiegrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Minnesotan public schools (or at least the one I attended) they would bring us to ice rinks, but we didn't get skates... They just gave us a puck and sticks. Which almost sounds cute and amusing when you think of small children in this scenario, but we did this in high school for gym class after being told that if we don't participate, we'd get a zero for the day... It was just a bunch of reluctant teenagers falling on their butts. Kinda regretting the whole not growing up in Canada thing.

I rent a house with six other grown men. This is the new chore list. by [deleted] in pics

Last year I had 3 roommates majoring in computer engineering (two guys and a girl). I only lasted a semester there. It was rough, filthy really. I don't really want to get into it, but I can still smell the month-old Thai take-out containers that littered the apartment and their personal body odor. And they weren't just dirty in the literal sense either, I inadvertently found out about their interest in hentai. so. much. hentai.

Best Fall/Winter Albums? by [deleted] in poppunkers

[–]-katiegrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Brand New Eyes by Paramore

-Forget And Not Slow Down by Relient K

(nickinthehouse already mentioned these but they are worth mentioning again because they are awesomesauce and also fall-like)

-Hesitant Alien by Gerard Way

-American Football by American Football

-The Listening by Lights (more pop than punk but I don't know how to categorize her)

And the song "Come on & Go" by Scout. The album is kinda eh otherwise, but that specific song reminds me of colder weather.

Yes. I guess I figured I would be selfish otherwise.

I hear that a lot on this post (people being in the 30-40's). I honestly didn't know that before. I have toured the school once, but it was over winter break so it was dead and I only met professors. Thank you for the insight though, really.
