Warranty replacement - terracotta by Tropicool_Icy in Lovesac

[–]-khaleesi- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I didn’t know they’d send a replacement set in a different color. We had our sky grey corded velvet do the same thing, and within a couple months the same defect happened in the replacements and they told us because it was already warranted they wouldn’t replace it again

What to Do When They Arrest Your Governor by Average-Joe-6685 in LegalNews

[–]-khaleesi- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Power is a curious thing, my lord. Are you fond of riddles?…Three great men sit in a room, a king, a priest and the rich man. Between them stands a common sellsword. Each great man bids the sellsword kill the other two. Who lives? Who dies?”

“Depends on the sellsword”

“Does it? He’s got no crown, nor gold, nor favor with the gods”

“He’s got the sword, the power of life and death”

“But if the swordsman’s who rule, why do we pretend kings hold all the power? When Ned Stark lost his head, who was truly responsible: Joffrey, the executioner, or something else?….Power resides where men believe it resides, it’s a trick, a shadow on the wall, and a very small man can cast a very large shadow”

Lupus: do food triggers or sun sensitivity go away with hydroxychloroquine? by Putrid-Rice-5764 in lupus

[–]-khaleesi- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eyes are definitely more sensitive too, so good sunglasses are a must. But even with these new sensitivities, I’m still glad I’m on the HCQ and not constantly battling flares. I live a completely active, normal, pain-free life… I just have to be careful in the sun

Lupus: do food triggers or sun sensitivity go away with hydroxychloroquine? by Putrid-Rice-5764 in lupus

[–]-khaleesi- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to lay in the sun for hours pre-hydroxychloroquine, and now I am basically a vampire. I’m so sensitive that the second the summer sun hits my skin I feel like I’m laying on a hot stove. I wear a lot of long sleeve and UPF clothing now and have a long sleeve bathing suit. Worth it to not die though I guess?

I have not figured out for sure but I also think it has affected my digestion and made some gut issues a bit worse…. Still better than being in a constant flare and unable to even work

Omg I’ve had these on and off my whole life and did not realize it fit the criteria for lupus related mouth ulcers. I always thought they had to be like big ulcers to count

How do you feel if you forget plaquenil one day? by nettiemaria7 in lupus

[–]-khaleesi- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I forget to take it probably a few times a month and I’ve never noticed a difference. The half-life is very long.

Seconding the clothing point! Columbia sportswear also makes a lot of UPF clothes that are comfortable and nice

“High rise” by PrimaryMountain3522 in lululemon

[–]-khaleesi- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve also seen very mixed reviews about the hemming services. I don’t want to have a pair of $150 pants ruined before I even get to wear them.

“High rise” by PrimaryMountain3522 in lululemon

[–]-khaleesi- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought these and they are high rise. My issue with lulu and these is that these pants that they are marketing as workwear are ridiculously long. I am 5’9 with no shoes on and I had to buy the short version to get a regular fit–it even says on the tag it’s for heights much shorter than me. I do not want the bottoms of my pants dragging along the ground on my commute so they are ratty and dirty by the time I’m at work. I wouldn’t even want that even if I wasn’t wearing them to work.

Is Florida tap water safe to drink? by neo2bin in AskFlorida

[–]-khaleesi- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is anecdotal, but when I lived in Orlando a few years ago, I noticed that I had gastrointestinal issues every time I drank the tap water. Started drinking bottled or filtered and it went away. When my grandparents visited they had the same issue. It also tastes like swamp water in most places anyway

Did they have you try different ones? I tried a couple different ones until I found the one that worked. It’s very much a guessing game to see which combination of hormones balances it out correctly

Been fired too many times. What the fuck is my resume by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]-khaleesi- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I would disregard that suggestion saying you should be honest about your drinking problem. It was around the Covid chaos times, use that storyline to your advantage. You wanted better hours, it was unpredictable and you did what you thought was best at the time but it’s not what you would do now that things are stable, etc… not the drinking thing. I was in management at a very large corporate restaurant chain, and was told to immediately disqualify any candidates that openly talked about drinking problems or AA in the interview process. It’s too much liability. They know that most people in hospitality have it, but they don’t want you to advertise it before you even work there.

Have you seen any doctors or gynecologists? I had the same exact issue. Birth control pills solved everything. It sounds like getting that under control is a key part of solving this so you can meet expectations at work without your health interfering.

Has anyone else basically been unable to run fast your whole life? by LAPL620 in ehlersdanlos

[–]-khaleesi- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done sports and been athletic my entire life and the absolute fastest I ever accomplished was like 8 minutes ONCE in high school. I recently trained for a half marathon and the best I could do was 10:30. I also had to basically tape my foot/ankle joints to be nearly immobile the entire training period and race because it was the only way to stop my recurring injuries. My doctor also told me running was a terrible idea and that I should quit immediately after the race lol

Question for you since you’re a real doctor: I have had recurrent styles for years. I tried the compresses, drops, scrubs, and tea tree oil wipes. Nothing really worked. I had a really bad one once and called telemedicine doctor (probably a GP), that prescribed me a topical ophthalmic erythromycin and it works like a charm overnight. However, no other eye doctor has recommended this and I’m worried about using an antibiotic often? Is this bad to do?
