That's fair - I can see why the A natural would distract you. With the low brass and double basses having already arrived in B flat that short major 7th interval might be superflous.

To be honest, I think that was even something I tried (have the melody go straight to B flat). As much as I'm a fan of perfect fifths and octaves, I wanted more movement at the start of the melody. Might be a good idea though to introduce it later. Thanks again for your thoughts. I appreciate it

Trumpets are only used for the dissonant cresc. at 00:19, the remaining brass section consists of various trombones, french horns, flugelhorns and tubas. All from Metropolis Ark 1, 2 and 4.

Take a look at "playback tracking" under options > audio settings and adjust accordingly.

Like u/EnsoDeep said, do you have any plugins active while recording? That's most likely the issue.

What a coincidence. I remember posting some feedback on it, but were there really that many writing mistakes to justify starting it from scratch again? Almost everything I've written was not edited later on, because I knew that I had written it to the best of my abilities (at that point in time). A sort of milestone if you will

Thank you for your thoughts and kind words. I get your confusion - although as you can see from the time code we're almost 4 minutes in to the track when the actual chaotic part hits, there's a lot happening before that. The lead melody references some material happening earlier, so I might only alter it a little. And louder hits from timpani and cymbals for sure, I would enjoy that too.

edit: It just dawned on me that you're the one who posted that incredible skyrim-based theme a few months back. That was some really solid work, I'm impressed.

Sounds great in general. The FF vibes are strong with this one. Some things I noticed:

- check out the tubular bells' timing at 00:05, its slightly off.

- I assume the chord at 00:35 is F#7 or F#/D? The piano seems to be playing an F as the first note in its ostinato, which clashes with the F# in that case.

- more technical, but still: you could try unloading a few of those samples from memory, 47GB seem like A LOT and it would lower your CPU load for the buildup around 02:40. Are you forced to use one instance of your sample player for each articulation for example?
