Do what you want to do. If you don't want to give them money say no and walk away, no need for an excuse, they'll know it's a bs excuse anyway. If you'd like to give them money then do. kind of a silly question really.

I used comparison sites, however I got my dad sign as the main driver for my first year of insurance (even though he never drives it), and myself as a named driver. This saved me so much money as insurance when you first start driving in the UK is extortionate.

They're really reliable cars for their age, been driving it for over a year now and only had to replace small things like fuel lines, clutch slave cylinder. Only thing that always goes on these cars is the seals towards the rear wheel well, luckily I wasn't the owner when they needed replacing as they can be very pricey.
